Don't you feel like sometimes your eyes have a masculine or feminine appearance to them, aside from makeup? No? Me neither.

Replicated strangely segregated board game matches is one thing "One day there won't need to be a word for female player..."

But this

OK, some of this I might be reading into it a bit much. But collectively it does say a little something.

Some other stuff

What can't he say? The shame of saying it matter's whos best in the game?

Oh, and why can't they interrogate her? She does write.

Why does the disciple have to do what the master tells them? And if the master doesn't actually teach anything, how can they be called sensei? What's the point of having one if they don't do anything?

He is the meijin, the pinnacle of the ancient ladder structure. For him to say that gender, professional/amateur - all those don't matter is akin to say that the whole Dan system is worthless.

I respect Hani brothers for this - they challenge the system with the open competition.

Oh, and why can't they interrogate her? She does write.

Because of the trauma she blocks her memory of that time.
Do note that she's trying to move on while the cops, the media and Hani Satoru keep on digging the old graves.
I also wants to know, but that's beside the point.

I hazard a guess that as disciple one may have the opportunity to catch glimpses of master's inner-thought process. One can study a move anytime/anywhere, but to hear how many alternate moves have been taken into considerations and why all those alternatives were discarded would be priceless.
