This forum is not really known for being incredibly active for its outstanding artists whom can actually give you criticism, most of the time only Watsu and I give lengthy C&Cs...To make a long story short; yeah, take it as a compliment. If you want to get more attention I advise ye to find a more...Active forum. That being said, I have no qualms with the fact you are "open" for criticism, good for ye. Just don't really expect anything but "wuh what purty pictures" around here.
Other than that? Don't act so shocked, look at your title. "Personal drawings (open for critique)"; meaning the main focus is your gallery, there's nothing wrong with exposing yourself; That's what some peeps do here anyway. Just have some common sense and see that 90% of the peeps here won't be able to give you any helpful C&C, and the ones who are capable of C&C are the artist-gods whom are too busy in having a job.

Giving C&C to someone of your caliber is not an easy task, be aware of that. Not that what you uploaded is bloody bullet proof, it is really not. But I find it pointless none the less to criticize it because shit happens sometimes; the only thing I can say is : "Plan your drawings better before you shade and paint them, your eyes and noses in what you uploaded here are off the chart".  Other than that? I learnt that criticism to someone above beginner level will generally go unnoticed. Pointing out faults is good when the artist makes them, during the drawing process. Otherwise the only thing one can comment on are some fundamental fuckups in the basic structure (like your eyes) or some arbitrary thing like lightning. Shit happens sometimes, mistakes happen by random and it's nearly impossible to actually learn anything from a complicated drawing unless it's a fundamental error like muscle structure or bone / organ placement.

Oh, and I forgot to ask this previously: What's your repertoire -- your tools? I see fine line-work, so I assume you're using colored pens or pencils..Care to share?

I know this thread is old but thought I'd give my two cents :0

 

Get out of the habit of drawing busts!!....It's fun, I know but drawing faces all day is self-indulgence.  You'll turn into one of those people who draw really detailed busts but the rest of the body looks stilted and awkward.  This will limit you a lot.

 

GJ on drawing neck muscle and the collarbone, a lot of people neglect that.  And look a real nose!  Cool.

 

Some points:

• Where is the light coming from? It looks like it might be from somewhere the top of his head...but then theres a white highlight under his jaw?  There's not a lot of shading variation in his face in general.
• The white highlights are very bold, be more careful where you putting them...you want it to count!
• Consider the material you're drawing.  The material of his shirt/jacket shouldn't have the same kind of highlight than say, his hair.  He's have to be wearing latex for that to happen.
• Is the eyes being so far apart an stylistic thing?  Why is that the only stylized aspect of the drawing?
• What is his expression supposed to mean? (took a quick look at your page and a lot of your drawings have these bemused, neutral faces)

Its old yes, but I gotta say this guy has talent. The way he colors is already great but it still can be refined. Only two things to actually criticize in form here: the eyes are a bit too far apart from each other and the nose is too big.
