The author seems to have read death note,by a random panel that shows ryuk as an example of a god like being. The gm also seems to have similar motivations with him (for fun). The die seems to also have rulesof use, similar to how death note has rules of use.The story seems to be affected by death note somewhat and, althrough its definitely not so similar,or as dark,i guess it is an big influence to the author. This also justifies (this is not proof, since there are many such stories, but it is justified by it nevertheless)the dark turns the story is taking with superpowers. So,yeah, death note is definitely an influence (not an insult:everything is influenced by something).Just thought i'd share and ask for opinions.

Ignorance is a bliss...until you actually understand how many people ,including sometimes yourself, this ignorance destroyed. But,I guess that, when you understant that, you wont be ignorant anymore.

He who does not understand his mistakes, does not learn. He who does not learn, does not grow.He who does not grow,is already dead.

Everyone claims that he learns from his mistakes, and yet, very few people do.Ah,pride,is it that you are so well hidden from a man's eyes?

While i agree that Death Note might have influenced the author in a way or another. I doubt that Dice will be a result of that influence. What i mean by that is that i simply believe that Yunhyunseok has his own agenda for Dice but DN only served as an inspiration.

It's in a way similar to what mangakas like Oda or Kishimoto did with their respective mangas, where the mains characters Luffy/Naruto are always hungry and clumsy just like Goku was in Dragonball Z. Why did they do that? It's because they admired Akira Toriyama as an author and he is a source of inspiration to them.

It's similar in that case with Dice's author. We can clearly see that he enjoyed Death Note therefore adding something such as a representation of Ryukk is a way to show that he was a fan of Death Note and it's funny as well so why not? As long as it fits in the story and doesn't seem to forced just like what Oda and Kishi did, it's going to be perceived as a wink to DN's fan and author.

Or, It could also be just for marketing. DN might be famous in Korea and showing or adding some components from a famous manga into yours for comical purpose can clearly boost the number of readers and attract more people to read Dice.

I doubt that it's the second option alone, it's either the first or a mix of the two.

As for the story, I'm pretty sure the author is planning to do his own thing and i don't see anything close to DN yet. It's too different for now and even with the ''supernatural'' aspect added in the story, it's still not close enough. Imo, the only thing that is really similar in both is the psychological aspect of the story.

I did not claim anything different,i was just trying to prove he was clearly influenced. Also, sorry about the title typo. Its probably gona be less dark than dead note, though.
