(Not sure if this should belong here or Quality Assurance or somewhere else, but I'll put it here first.)
Lately, I've been seeing a lot of manga forums titled "spoilers/raw discussion thread", made by this guy called konokon. He doesn't post anything about discussing anything in the threads, however; rather, he posts links to an online manga raw reader called SenManga.
His signature's also a link to SenManga's Facebook page, so it's easy to see he's not really there to discuss much, but simply to post links to the latest raws for the manga to which the manga forum in question belongs.
I know it's not really that much of an inconvenience since people don't really use the manga forums much unless it's for really popular manga (whether that's a good thing or not can be subject to later debate), but it's still sort of irritating to see it pop up occasionally, like some sort of unpaid ad or forum exploit (which, of course, it is.) Granted, it's not everywhere (for now), but I still see it from time to time. (As a scanlator, it's particularly irksome for me since I'd like to see myself get ahead of "raw providers" like these ones.)
Would these kinds of posts be considered spam or not? It would be like posting a comment on a manga saying "Get new raws here! <link>". Might not be annoying for some, but might be annoying for others. I dunno. If it's not that big an issue, then forget it.
(I would post links to some manga pages that I've found these kinds of forums on, but that would take some time... Like I said, it's not everywhere. It just pops up from time to time, like a fly in your fruitcake. Or something like that. I'm bad with analogies...)
