Like how it seems that Rai is at his end and there are still Elders to take down; maybe after Rai is no longer with them, the kids will be kidnapped again but this time the will not make it in time to save shinwoo from sacrifice himself for his friends and to save him he would stop to be a normal human.

Yeah, I've given that scenario a thought or two myself.....it really doesn't seem that unreasonable to me, Shin Woo being Rei's heir apparent somehow...... something along those lines.

lol well that probably won't happen given the recent events >.<

I honestly thought that martial arts noble with the ripped sleeves was gonna train shinwoo lol.

Haha! True, though it was probably never more than wishful thinking on our part anyway  :D

I've thought in the past that Shin-Woo (and the other kids too maybe) would get brought into the "inner circle" in at least some way..........but yeah, that's become less and less likely the more the whole "letting the kids be kids" and the "live a normal life" mantra has been espoused by all the "good" Nobles (and I guess by that I mean most all of them but Rael  :D).

So yeah, I guess he and the rest of them are doomed to live the role of bit players and potential hostages forever and ever.   >_<

Speaking on the subject of a possible Noblesse successor, if they were going to go that route it would make more sense to just bring in a whole new character. Like, maybe the 9th Elder had some of Rai's blood and had spent 420 years trying to make a clone that he could control. Maybe a Noble suddenly awakens to becoming the next Noblesse. Nobody knows how the selection process works so anything is possible.

While it's possible to pick a successor out of our current roster, most of these characters either already have their own responsibilities (future/current Clan Leaders), are not Nobles (Frankenstein), or are simply not strong enough (RK-5). If Shinwoo became the next Noblesse, I would totally call bullshit on that because that would require serious plot bending and would retconn a lot of stuff. Realistically, the most appropriate candidate is Frankenstein because he's strong, shares a lot of Rai's values and is respected by the Nobles. But even then, who knows if humans are able to become Noblesse since it's a position that doesn't really require involvement with humans.

I'm pretty curious as to what Korean fans think of Shinwoo since people seem to be so hopeful that he will actually amount to something. Is that exclusive to Western fans or do the Korean fans feel the same way?

I'm not sure about the korean fans but I would assume they do as well. He's a righteous, hot-blooded character with some swagger and he also disregard authority.

He's typical MC material really, it doesn't help that he was pretty much an important character if not the most important character of the first act as most of it was through his PoV.

Ultimately I share the opinion of many, that the author/artist pair just simply did not think of all the power levels that would come about and could not explain shinwoo and / or his gang to be elevated enough to be actually relevant compared to the beings of power from Lukedemia and The Union.

So, they written them / him off with that memory removal.

As for who will be the next Noblesse when / if he dies, I don't really know. He's been it for milennias, who knows if an actual transfer of power is actually possible or if he simply was born with it.

The most logical transfer of power would be through bloodline. But considering him, expecting children is like asking for a miracle.

But I think Shinwoo is a "super" human, kind of like Frankenstein except not enhanced by experiments. He has the potential to become as powerful as Frankenstein, but I'm not sure the story will take us there.

Instead of Shinwoo being the next Noblesse (never going to happen, guys), this is actually a much more reasonable road for his character to go. Shinwoo becoming the next Frankenstein(not a butler, but maybe a footman?). It would make sense for him to develop a strong loyalty to Rai, discover the supernatural stuff (for the third time), and get involved as support via contract. It would take the death of all his friends for this to happen (or some equal tragedy/catastrophe)because that's the only circumstance I can imagine Rai giving in and letting Shinwoo join the supernatural side.

It seems very unlikely to me that Shinwoo is of supernatural origin and my main reason for that is Ik-Han. Just as Shinwoo is a martial artist with abilities bordering on the humanly possible Ik-Han is a hacker of similar skill. This leads me to conclude that the kids were set up as hugely talented teenagers with the potential to become very powerful, but as the series experienced power creep that idea fell by the wayside and they're now mainly a symbol for Rai's desire to lead a pieceful life. That said, while it doesn't seem like he has plans in that direction I still have some hope the author might remember he has some rather well built-up characters in the kids (even if it's been a while) and reintegrates them into the story. Unlikely, but one can dream. If so, I still see Shinwoo as a contractor of one of the nobles, but not Rai who couldn't possibly drag one of his kids into the fighting. I also don't think Frankenstein would modify him, but it would be possible for the kids to be kidnapped by the union and experimented on and gain powers that way, since it's already been shown that they're raw material with huge potentials.

Like I implied above, I think the author has basically discarded Shinwoo as a character -- he's just one generic kid in the crowd of random innocents who get endangered when the plot requires it.

It feels to me like very early on, the plot was intended to be different; but as new supernatural characters were introduced, non-supernatural ones got edged out.

I actually thought there was more to Shinwoo the first...50-60 chapters. My hope was that he was maybe the successor or a half blood of some sort to the noblesse (or me wishful thinking).

Now, I do agree, I think the intention has changed with the author or there was a last minute rewrite to the plot. I feel as if he's been discarded as a supporting 'innocent' human of whom the supernaturals currently have made friends with. Which tbh, it's a little disappointing.  Ah well...

That being said, if this ends with Rai passing away and Frankenstein nursing the next 'who knows' maybe it's a set up for part 2. Again, wishful thinking.
