His ex-fiance, or the man she was with, or anne as a favor to her friend,  are the ones responsible for redecorating the "toy store"  But instead has something to with that night, maybe she was sleeping with someone to get that redecorating?  Maybe Xiaowai was trying to save her family store, but after the break up, she changed it a bit as partially a monument of her loss or something.

 

Ok, maybe not any of that. But I have a feeling that store and that night are connected. That if he had stayed to listen to what Xiawai had to say, he would have gotten a more complete picture, that what he walked in on was not as simple as only her cheating on him. 

 

Also, perhaps Anne had a feelings for him way back, even when he was with Xiawai, just not acting on them because of Xiawai. And perhaps with Anne too, he left before important things could be said, which is why Anne was angry with him 5 years latter. I could  puzzle why she didn't call him, but I have a good guess for that, perhaps that guy back then never gave the note with the contact information to Anne, and lied about it to Anne, because he wanted Anne for himself. http://vatoto.com/read/_/187131/the-wrong-room_v1_ch3_by_bap-scans/15

It sure is mysterious,  lots of avenues for speculation on this one.   The art is superb.

I almost wish that the romance between Yanyun and Anne would bloom, but then that would only make the story decent instead of good.

In the end it comes down to neither side willing to be honest and neither side willing to listen because of their emotions at the time.

Wow,  this was such a short story but it took a really different turn than I thought it would.   I also didn't think it would be just 5 chapters.
