You know something? We only have one dedicated healer. One healer who has been known to accidentally kill things instead no less. Light help us (O_O)

Camus specialized in supportive magic. That includes barriers and healing magic ^^

I imagine Renmatsu might. Other than that almost all of us are elsewhere and the prince is currently waiting to finish a conversation with Renly before he can do anything else.

Haha, it's fine.

I'm realizing I may have written something, er, unfair? into the roleplay. By equating magic with vitality I basically gave Camus and Lily a bajillion HP. Ummm, let's just go with the fact that it's very complicated, but when you steep yourself in magic, your body begins to start to depend on it. It's both a strength and a weakness. If you don't spend your days poring over magical texts and meditating on the elements, you have nothing to worry about. And um, complicated stuff. Feel free to jump in here, anyone. XD

I thought healing magic was a small form of light magic? I dunno. >.>

Well it may have give a bajillion HP but it is a double edged sword..seing simply how magics that would have lesser effect on lesser magi effect greater magi more due to their resonance with the elements :D

Atleast I think so..

Mmm, I'm not sure if it's gonna follow a Pokemon-style system of strengths and weaknesses. It's more like, you have an affinity with a certain element, meaning you naturally understand it. Thus, for a fire mage like Lily, who shines brightly as she consumes everything she can, she will probably have a hard time understanding--and thus mastering-- an element like earth, which simply sits there, content and solid, for eons. It's harder for Lily to counter earth magic because the elements she favors, fire and wind, are pretty useless against it. There's no series of multipliers-- this element is 2 times as effective, this one .25. The magic system here seems to be less logically based and more emotionally based.

But yes, someone like Caius who is less advanced in magic, and probably won't be able to reach out with his pure magic like Lily did, will not be susceptible to an assault directly on his inner source of magic...So I guess it kinda balances out?

Sorry, I'm rambling on the subject, but I'm enjoying thinking about it.

I've been listening to Debussy all night, if that tells you anything. :P

Well we owe you for putting a sound system in place :D

I didn't think for multipliers, simply because this is not a game with a healthbar :P

We have no means to ascertain that, I think what you say is logical..atleast I find it so  -_-

I posted, hope it is fine with you :D

I'd say we adopt Star Ocean's health system. There is HP (physical) and SP (magical)

You'll get incapacitated if any of the two is depleted :)

Note: In terms of raw magic power, Lily is far superior to Camus, I think..

Oh, is it? Then I'll scrap his healing magic :P

True, true..

Camus himself is a magician who excel at flowing type of elements, which is water and wind, mainly. He is able to master earth to a certain degree because earth do have a flow of its own, even though it is very slow and hard to observe in a short span of time.

His specialty, summoning, is also a manifestation of his mastery over the energy flow of the elements ^^

Well, I'm just glad that the system is holding up so far. ^_^

If you want some seriously awesome magic systems, you should read Brandon Sanderson and L. E. Modessitt, Jr. Those guys are incredible.

Haha, I think it's funny how your two characters are fighting each other. XD

Hmm, I'd always had the two of them equal, in my mind. But if that's what you think, we can go with it. Camus's summoning makes up for his lack of sheer power, I think.

But yeah, that makes sense. Let's not assign numbers, but Lily and Camus have high SP and low HP.  :D

You know, if I were to make another character, I'd make an earth mage. Someone not strong, but with an incredible understanding of the element. It would play nicely into my chosen area of study. :P

Haha, this theoretical character would show up later, not on the airship. And by going too deep, you mean casting to much? A distinct possibility, but I'm imagining the kind of person who know their element so well that they can ask it to do something for them. Of course, the temptation would be to go waaay too science-y.

Yup yup, summoning has a very high efficiency so if they both have same base power, I'm afraid Camus will be too OPed :P

And we should not forget the fact that Lily can master three elements despite the fact that she only spend ~1/3 of her time practicing magic

So technically, Lily should have more raw magic power compared to Camus (I think)

Well I meant going to sciency by going deep..something like Tectonic plate crush :P

or the sort

And if you're George R. R. Martin, Robert Jordan

...you die before finishing your series because you're old and the series takes a million years to complete.

But Lily has only mastered two elements...and obviously relies on fire a lot more than wind. At least so far. But yeah, that makes sense.

Haha, yeah, I'd be tempted to get really technical. Though I feel like I still have a tooon to learn before I can call myself anything resembling a geologist.

Hey now, Jordan died of a disease at age 58.

Fair call, fair call.

George is only 65, but he's not the healthiest lad either.

Hmm, I honeslty haven't read ASoIaF. I'm not sure if I want to, but I have a pretty big list of things I have to read, if I want to call myself a true fan of fantasy. XD

Okay, so, my post is done. Apparently a page is the shortest length I can write 'em. It's dramatic, and emotional, and all that good stuff. And, as always, I need to sleep now. :P
