Personally, I enjoy the names Aera and Lysander for the royal children's name. It fits with Sera and Lorcan.

The Lily of Freesia

 

Name: Liliana Celestine Mercia Freesia

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Grandparent/Parent: Daughter of the Cleric, Deifilia Freesia

 

Appearance: Tall, regal, elegant. Favors practical clothing, though in jewel tones, usually scarlet or sapphire. Long hair, down to her hips, which she keeps neatly braided or put into a bun.

 

History: It was clear from an early age that the Lady Liliana had not inherited the quiet and calm nature of her saintly mother. She was outgoing and friendly, and curious about everything. She kept everyone in both the manor and the surrounding town on their toes, always popping up unexpectedly and launching into questions about this and that. Liliana gave her mother quite a few headaches, when she disappeared only to be brought back to the manor by the town blacksmith, or the cooper, or the cobbler, or the tanner...

 

Unable to contain her daughter’s inquisitive nature, the Duchess of Freesia instead hired tutors to educate her, and keep her from wandering off. These tutors taught Liliana all kinds of things, from geography to history to math, and many more. The young noblewoman began to learn what it was to be a noble. Along with academic subjects, she learned the courtly arts, and surprised herself with her natural grace in the ballroom.

 

Lily discovered she was a fire mage when she was fourteen, upon accidentally setting the curtains in her room on fire. Her parents discusses what best to do with their newly-magical teenaged daughter, and decided to prevail upon their old friend, the Sorcerer. So Liliana went to stay at Leviathos, and study at the Arcanum Academy. She learned quickly, and it soon became clear that she was a very talented sorceress. However, she became very homesick. An agreement was worked out: Lily spent spring and summer at Leviathos, and fall and winter at Freesia. By the time she was sixteen, she was considered a Master of Flame.

 

Upon turning eighteen, Liliana was formally introduced to Court. Though not terribly interested in the posturing and scheming much of the nobility passed time with, her beauty, elegance, and friendliness earned her a spot among the most popular ladies of the court. Her habit of mingling with soldiers, artisans, and laborers from time to time was overlooked in favor of her ‘better’ attributes.

 

Lily continued to split her time between Leviathos, Freesia, and the royal court. She set herself to mastering Wind, deciding that it went nicely with her use of Fire.

 

Despite having many suitors, Liliana found none of them stirred her heart, and she very much wanted to marry for love, like her mother. The one man she fell in love with, during her nineteenth year, did not reciprocate her affection, and she left for Leviathos with a broken heart.

 

One day, during one of her many conversations with Levant of Leviathos, she jokingly said that she and he were very much like family, that he was like a second father, and that maybe he should just adopt her. The Sorcerer became thoughtful, and realized that she and his son would be a good match. Though Lily tried many times to assert that this was not what she meant, both he and her parents were taken by the idea. And so, the Lady Liliana Celestine Mercia Freesia found herself betrothed.

 

She is very embarrassed by her betrothal, and her betrothed, of whom she knows little. While she has met him, she has not interacted with him much, and is certainly not about to start. Lily avoids her fiance as much as she can.

 

When she heard of the Third Crusade, she saw it as an opportunity to live up to her mother’s accomplishments.

And a way to escape from her betrothal.

 

Specialty: Fire magic. Lily complements this with strong wind magic, a potent combination.

Skills:

Ballroom Dancing- Few can match her grace.

Fighting- Lily has learned basic self-defense, and can defend herself in a average physical altercation

Cooking- She was trained by a well-known chef, though she did not achieve his same skill

Trivia- Lily loves learning, about everything. She knows many odd facts about many different things.

Intellect and Memory- She learns quickly, thinks quickly, and remembers very well.

Management- She has learned how to manage an estate, and knows much of logistics, planning, and economics.

Magic- Lily has studied fire and wind magic extensively, and is also good with water. She has basic earth, plant, and animal skills.

Sewing- Something she learned as a ‘ladylike’ skill, at the insistence of one of her tutors. She can mend clothing, embroider, or make basic garments.

 

Equipment & Inventory:

-A small, leather-bound diary

-a pen and ink

-A knife for eating and other basic tasks

-a map of the known world

-a compass

-a coin pouch (filled with money)

-a long, red cloak (marks her as a fire sorceress)

-a sewing kit

-a small bag of spices

-a small copper pot

-a water bottle

 

 

Relationships:

- Betrothed to the Duke of Leviathos’s son. She doesn’t know him well, though, and is uncomfortable around him.

-Daughter of the Cleric, Deifilia. Lily adores her mother, and tries very hard to live up to being her daughter. Though she and her mother have different temperaments, they get along well. However, since Lily spends most of her time away from Freesia, they are not really close.

-Student of the Sorcerer, Levant. Lily views the Sorcerer as her uncle, and enjoys his company. She hopes to one day be as adept as he is, and regularly seeks him out for advice on how to better advance her studies. She is closer to Levant than she is to her mother.

 

Relationships can (and will) be edited. Her history can be edited to fit that of her fiance's.

Okay, now that that's done, I really have to go to sleep for a couple hours...possibly longer.

Nep said something about magic being an ability to manipulate "soul" of the elements. I'm planning to give him the ability to manifest that said "soul" in the physical world.

In game term, maybe it's like summoning elementals.

Gatekeeper's class would be like, Soldier or something a bit more general.

 

He seems to be a capable archer as well.

 

Valerius however... Can only use swords, or blades. Knives actually count.

 

Actually he has martial arts too, but only basic for holds.
