I haven't read the whole series but I did thumb through the end to see how it ends.  The art has a nice ambience and draws you in, but the substance is a bit lacking.  I think the artist is better at drawing than writing.

So what exactly happens at the end?  I see half of the tragedy....the significant character does a heroic sacrifice...... somehow the sun comes to life, and we have a bittersweet victory for an ending....

And then the author ruins it all by saying "many years later the world was covered in snow and on the brink of destruction again, but the story of a boy and girl gave them hope."  Why is this the ending?  Didn't they 'fix' the sun?

I almost sort of understand it now.  However, I still don't know what is making the world loop in cycles of destruction as of yet.
