...what's been going on. I don't get why Hijiri is a bad guy, who the other bad guys are, or what anyone's trying to accomplish at this point. What's the purpose of the magic king? How exactly do you become a candidate? According to Hijiri, she became a candidate when Arata destroyed her. How does that even work?

 

I'm just so confused. ;_;

I'm lost too man. There's so many girls I'm having trouble following who is who

@Volte: Hijiri is the guy's cousin, whom he was searching for from the beginning. 

 

I don't think anyone knows why Hijiri is an enemy at this point, or why she's trying to destroy the world. That's for future revelations, so just wait with the rest of us. However, it seems to me that the very existence of a Magic King is considered bad news for everyone in that manga, no matter which side the magic king is on.

about hijiri's motivate ...?
would be better, if her side is proven that she was right...!!!
and make the main character "ARATA" confuse .
In short of time he realize that hijiri's path wasn't wrong at all...

hope that this suggestion reach the mangaka.

Go ahead and read the next chapter, a lot of this confusion SHOULD be settled by the end.

kelpthegreat asked a few questions 1. why is hijiri a bad guy, 2. who are the bad guys, 3. what is everyone trying to accomplish, 4. the purpose of the magic king, 5. how do you become a candidate, and 6. how did hijiri become a magic king candidate from being destroyed by arata? the manga answers 1-4 pretty clearly, assuming arata and the trinity seven are the "good guys". 5. how do you become a candidate: this is not yet clearly explained, arata seems to have been born one, liese got it from the exterior library, see #6 above, and rouge never really explained where she got it. one thing i can conclude from the known ones is that the ability to become a candidate lies somewhere outside of the world, or even in an alternate dimension as shown by liese and hijiri. this is only a theory as it is never explained where arata got his candidacy nor does rouge explain where she got hers. #5 and #6 are relativly the same
