i want your opinions on my interpretation

in ch. 7 "The Lone Rose of Tower Hill" .. the visitor to the about-to-be-killed queen is her childhood friend who always loved her and despite knowing about his feelings she ended up in a political marriage. some talk and when he asks if there is anything she wants she asks him for a last kiss and comments that 'hugo was a better kisser', implying and later shown that her visitor was someone else (a demon/reaper/??)

how would she know that he was a better kisser? how did she know that he wasnt hugo? i think both questions could be explained if the real reason for her sentence was an affair with a knight (him), from the way she talks / thinks about him i think she treasures and cares about him a lot (maybe even that way?)

so if she returned his love and they were found out, the king killed him and wanted to kill her as well, that would explain why she saw through the demon because he was already dead
