Been reading the LN on baka-tsuki and am liking it so far but have stopped for now as the 5th one hasn't been fully translated, and would rather wait then skip.
 
Regardless, to keep it short, my question is: Is Watanabe Mari pure?
 
Is there no more info given about her relationship/potential feelings for Tatsuya? I started reading the LN because I saw a pic of her with Tats and thought she looked cute - so I must admit I was very disappointed when it turned out some bastard had already gotten there first.

 

Fine with her being unpure - just don't want to have to skip and possibly ruin the story just to find out a relatively small detail.

Also just to remind you of something, read the last few lines of vol. 3 ch. 2. Don't know how to format spoilers and it's a major one so didn't want to post it here.

 

FYI vol. 5 has almost no impact on the plot in case you weren't already aware. You can safely read the chapters that are translated already and move onto 6.

Didn't notice anything at the end of v3c2 tbh, unless you were talking about his stunted emotions. Furthermore, will trust you and will continue reading then also - ty.

 

The only thing I can rhetorically say is: Why would the author make the best girl, the girl that brings about the best interactions with Tats unavailable from the onset (Tats could maybe open a route for himself, but as if he'd ever do that)? Wetting, but not feeding.

 

Tats wouldn't be able to return any romantic feelings albeit, but still..

that's just your opinion. i prefer Tatsuya and Mayumi's interactions more. quite the teasing couple IMO lol. They seem to go back and forth with each other in terms of taking the upperhand in conversation and there's definitely some attraction there I believe.

I highly doubt she's "pure" or a virgin. especially after that visit she had with Nao during the 9 schools competition. But I figured based on the way that he phrased his actual post was more along the lines of  "is her relationship with tatsuya pure," more so than is she herself pure.

A woman's purity is not defined by whether she is a virgin or not, nor by is it dependent really on whom she is currently sleeping with or not sleeping with.

 

It is with whom she wishes to truly be with wholeheartedly that matters. My question could have been interpreted as asking simply: Does she eventually decide to open her legs solely for Tatsuya? (whether their contextual reality allows her to do so is another thing)

 

I wanted to see the interactions between an emotionally stunted marginalised male and an elite tomboy senpai - and watch as she gets overwhelmed as he eventually has to reveal that he's an overwhelmingly talented guy.

I should clarify again that I don't really care too much about the romance aspect. An available Mari could possibly just have been a good thing is all I am saying (having caught up in LN, not really sure it would have so much tbh). Forgive me if that offends you manginas so. + The romance is a tiny part of the story anyway, as Tats is stunted.

 

Have to say also, can't wait for vol 8 chpt 16 to be translated. Have been checking the page multiple times per day.

Mari getting with a bastard who I have no rapport with, rather than the cool guy I have built a rapport with and would rather see her with, means that she is at an underlying level going against me (causing me unnecessary stress - which can affect my health, productivity and well being), therefore she is X.

 

The only word I can think of using as X in this instance, is 'unpure'. As far as I know, you don't have the rights to the english language - therefore I believe I have done nothing wrong by labelling her thus, and instead am actually quite confused as to why you are making an issue about this.

Damn. That's a much more impressive explanation than i was expecting. More like, it's a little over the top. That said, this is the part that i'm interested in:

This basically explains everything. I personally would consider the issue in the 'infinitesimally small' zone. As such it is essentially a non-issue for me. The problem is that if YOU are worrying about it, then that worry will likely never go away. Although i'm sure you know this, the chance that any of the girl's sex lives gets touched upon in this story is nearly as infinitesimally small as the impact this issue has on my personal well-being. Therefore it would probably be in your best interest not to consider the possibility that she is anything but a virgin. Rule of thumb - always assume that girls in such stories are all virgins unless specifically told otherwise, since it's useless to worry about it before it becomes an issue(if ever). Think of it as a 'glass half empty/glass half full' kind of thing.

 

As for the word choice, using 'pure' or 'impure' instead of 'virgin' or 'not a virgin' can give people various bad or creepy vibes(especially on a manga site). Technically you are correct in your usage of the words, but that isn't the issue. Honestly the only times I can recall seeing the term 'pure' used in that fashion is in manga/anime by (at best)some borderline fanatic obsessed with a girl or group of girls. That's the kind of impression i got when i read the title of this thread. I don't mean to make a big deal out of it, i'm just trying to explain where i'm coming from.

 

If you really want the thread to be deleted, i think you'd be better off pming a forum mod. That or if there is some "request deletion" button somewhere... though i don't see one...

I agree... It also seems like Mayumi likes Tatsuya... She seems to be the character who flirts with tatsuya the most openly.and it doesn't seem to be in jest.

Wow...I find those words incredibly offensive seeing as my older sister has 3 children, the oldest was with a man different than the one she was married with. Does that make her "unpure?" Is she now a lesser person in your world simply because she has slept with more than one man? I hope you never have children because I would hate to see you force these views on anyone.

 

So a fictional character you do like happens to like a character you don't like and that causes you stress? Wow...just...I have nothing to really say to that other than...sad...

 

Also, in regards to women being "pure" Women don't need your biased labels to be people. If what you meant was whether or not she was a virgin than you should have put on your big boy pants and just said that. I can't imagine how any self-respecting woman could lower herself to go out with you, but hey, there are lots of women who don't respect themselves (because of people like you) so you just might be in luck.
