In case any of you weren't aware of the situation, Go Comi, the company who had licensed Shibariya Komachi as Bound Beauty, and produced the first 3 volumes* in English, closed down in 2010. That would make the series currently unlicensed, since the company which held the license no longer exists, and will publish no more volumes.

I don't know how many people keep up with things like this, but I did find the last few years rather depressing for the manga industry. So many companies going under. I remember at the time it took quite a while for what looked like a suspicious situation to be announced officially. It's a shame, because they licensed a lot of titles that deserved more love. It's a real shame that things turned out this way.

However, if you're interested in buying the volumes they did manage to release (do it!), I'm sure they're floating around somewhere like on ebay or amazon, so get them before the prices for the few remaining volumes left go up ridicolously. Likewise, if you're into raws, searching for 縛り屋小町 or even hitting the transcendence forums for SK will reveal links to the raws for the remaining volumes.

Even better, if you have the kind of expertise that scanlations need (translating Japanese, don't mind typesetting or proofreading), register your interest with Transcendence and get involved. It's now clear that without fans, nobody will get to see this series completed :(

*Technically some sites list the first 5 volumes, but they seem unavailable *anywhere*, so am unconvinced they ever came out.
