These are the Rules that are placed for the fairness of all Role Play games.
These rules must be followed at all times as to keep things running smoothly for all players.
(All 'New Rule' additions will ALWAYS be posted in RED)
1.) Players are asked to create "character sheets" to provide basic information on their characters. (this is not a required, only requested.)
2.) NO TAKING CONTROL OF ANOTHER PLAYER'S CHARACTER WITHOUT THAT PLAYER'S PERMISSION.
3.) Please make sure to observe other player's posts and actions within the RP before making a post in response to said player's or other's posts.
4.) Any use of any other player's character information(I.E. Character bio's) such as information that may be known outside of the game, but not to any other character, is not allowed, as that is taking advantage of said character.
5.) Players that make super human characters are asked to please create weaknesses that apply to their abilities.
- By weaknesses we mean: flaws, drawbacks to the abilities, be it major, comedic, side effects, etc.
- This allows for fairness for those player's who choose to play "normal" humans, and keeps overpowered abilities to a moderate level.
6.) Weaknesses that are obscure, (EX: Allergies, fears, addictions, insanities, etc.) will be asked to actually be played into the character in the duration of the game, not just something that will sit on the sidelines just to be there.
- The weaknesses are placed upon characters so that they counter balance the highly powerful abilities that a lot of the characters possess.
- If they are not played into the character by the player, the GMs will make sure that the weaknesses are used against you from time to time. (No it will not be every other post so you need not worry.)
7.) Any power allowing use of out of character knowledge is disallowed unless both parties agree on each event OR there are severe repercussions for the character. This includes the abilities to predict actions and events. These repercussions must be accepted as sufficient before use.
8.) While immortality is allowed, invincibility is not. No character is completely unbeatable.
9.) Dodging, blocking, or being immune to EVERY attack a player throws is not allowed, but does not mean that you have to take EVERY single attack that is thrown at you. That would just be foolishness. There are also ways that an attack can be rolled with to lessen damage taken from an attack.
- EX: Someone throws a roundhouse kick at another person's jaw. Receiver of the attack could spin when the hit connects, lessening the force of the blow.
That is just one example, and is not something that must be done with every attack received.
10.) No wanton murder. Permanent character death is to be decided by the poster for that character and no-one else.
11.) While there is, in fact, violence and mature language, it is asked that sexual content be kept to a moderate level within RP games, as there are underage players. (Note: This is a standard Batoto Rule, and it will be enforced.)
12.) If you are wanting to attach your character to another player's character, send that player a pm and discuss it with them, and if they choose to go along with it, then you may proceed. No entering another player's past and attaching you character to them without permission.
13.) If you want to create an event or situation with another player, send a pm to that player and discuss it so that an agreement can be reached between both players.
14.) Resurrection, healing, and regeneration are, in fact, allowed within the game, however, keep in mind that while it is allowed there must also be drawback to each.
- EX: Regeneration takes time, especially for extensive wounds, no instant regeneration.
- EX: Resurrection takes a toll on the caster, leaving them very tired and feeling drained of energy/power and the resurrectee wakes up dazed, weak, ect.
Those are some examples for that rule.
15.) Combat energy shields.
- They are allowed.
- There is no limit to how many people can be inside a shield generated by a character, however, the more people are in it, the more taxing it is on the caster, and the amount of time the shield can be in place is lessened considerably.
- No shield is indestructible, but like most it can take quite a bit of damage before failing entirely.
- Stationary shields, like for a structure, such as a house or the like, work differently.
- Casting times for those kinds take longer to cast and MUST be renewed after a certain time has passed depending on the strength and size of the shield.
16.) Cloning one's self, or creating a projection of one's self is allowed, however, doing so can only be done a certain amount of times within a fight. The number of times that can be done will be discussed and decided upon when all players have agreed on a fair amount of times this ability can be used per fight or per day. Update will be posted once the decision is made.
17.) OTHER RULES FOR EACH RP GAME MAY VARY. SEE RULES CREATED BY THE GAME MASTER OF THE RP. HOWEVER, THERE ARE STILL RULES HERE THAT APPLY TO EVERY GAME, AND WILL BE ENFORCED.
More rules will be added as they are needed within the game. Please continue to keep checking the thread for updates.
