Is it just me or did the Author misunderstand how you count roman numbers?
He writes thirteen as " IIIX", but if you properly count this would be equivalent to VII, which means 7.
Numbers written left from the highest value are read as negative ones and right ones as positive...
Well and what does this stand for ? are there 12 more of those devil contractors or is it a stand alone number that represents some kind of power/curse or whatever?
