I wrote this poem about a month ago. It's not all that great and it's the first one I have done in a while. To warn you its kinda elementary but it is also kinda dark too. So keep that in mind before you read it. I used to be better at writing poems. Now I mostly write short stories. However, Ill just share the poem anyways. It has no name.

What should I do when my pride is shattered

My trust is shaken

My Heart is broken

What should I do when my life is in shambles?

My body is stained by all that I’ve done.

I’ve lived my life poorly

Trusted the wrong people

Bitten the hand that feeds me

And loved my worst enemy

I’ve shut my eyes to the truth

Dug myself in deeper

Slept with people for money

And allowed hatred to take root

Friendship makes me suspicious

Kind words make me skeptical

The word love makes me run the opposite direction

I don’t trust anyone.

Though at times it seems hopeless

Wondering if I have a purpose

I try to keep these thoughts within me

Placing focus on what’s important that I haven’t screwed up

But still often I feel hollow

Going through the motions

Smiling on the surface

Numb inside my heart

Is there hope in healing?

Can I start it over?

Sometimes my pain seems dear to me

Cause it is frightening to move forward

It is an very nice poem that can also be told as an story ~
Lol, Now why isn't there a title when it is about "starting over"?~^^~

Here's a small little thing I thought about today... I don't know if you could really call it a poem but I figured I would add it anyways as an attempt at a short yet positive poem. When I post more poems they will most likely be longer and not as happy... But I figured id share it anyway.


If today is better than yesterday
and I promise to make tomorrow better than today,
All the today's after a while
Will be the best days of my life

My kids made this haiku cause after I saw them on here I thought they were cool and was reading some that I found by authors... I thought they did a lot better than my try on the endless haiku post so I thought I would share it...

Coffee has bad taste - (derrick 7 yr. old)
To Young Kids who do not know - (I helped here)
that it has sugar - (tyler 9 yr old)

you're great! i can feel the depth in the first poem, and wow that last two lines on it....SUPERB.
not to mention your way with words make the feelings relatable. i really really love it.

the haiku with your kids are too cute too!
