In the comments. You can check it, I'm not lying. Please, stop it already. It's exactly like when someone from the 20th century complained about not being able to watch some movie because there were interracial couples on it. Ugh.

And this is just some subtext. You can rest assured; there isn't any unholy romance relationship between boys, god forbid.

Sorry if I sound bitter.

Are you suggesting nobody is allowed a preference you disagree with? While I don't care about their preferences or opinions, I respect that they're free to them. Asking them to keep their opinions to themselves simply because you disagree is rather arrogant. Negative or positive, they're still merely opinions and preferences.

Would you watch or read something that disgusts you just to please a stranger who enjoys it? Would you pretend to enjoy it just for them? I wouldn't. I'm far too honest and far too little concerned about the preferences of strangers, but that's just me. You're going to face people who disagree with you about something all your life. It's called diversity. Attempting to deny anyone their opinion is called intolerance.

Not that you can't disagree or something but stating the damn thing over and over is killing the mood <.<
If you don't want to read don't read, be sure you read the gender before you even open the files.-----.

Yes, everybody has a right to express their opinion, but some of this stuff gets taken way too far in the comment section. It's why I don't even bother reading them on a number of the titles I follow anymore, and just go to these forum threads to try have intelligent discussions. For some reason it seems like the people who like to harp over and over on the same divisive points don't seem to want to engage in much "in-depth" conversation about them. I'm guessing it's an attention span thing.

It's a vilification thing. Those people have learned that, if they so much as hint that they're not gay and they're not interested in such depictions, they're going to be attacked by an angry lynch mob of defensive hypocrites. So, they each make a potshot comment to relieve their disappointment in a manga they had high hopes for and most of them move on. What you have to understand is they're not just one person chanting the same mantra but several individuals expressing their individual disappointments.

On the other hand, why would they want to submit themselves to such a hostile panel? Threads like these are basically firing squads. Its very purpose is an attack on their freedom of expression. Is the review section saturated with speculation? Yes. Is it wrong? No more wrong than anyone who complains about anything "heteronormative". No more wrong than anyone else who expresses any sort of opinion at all. Neither your or their opinions/preferences are any more right or wrong. The sooner everyone accepts that, the sooner logical discussions can be had.

If you don't like a homosexual or an interracial romance simply because it is homosexual or interracial, and not because it is a romance, then your opinion/preference is wrong and disgusting. This is like when people started complaining en masse because a black actress was cast for the role of the little girl in 'The Hunger Games'.

No. That is ignorant. By your logic, one cannot dislike pizza because they don't like cheese and tomato sauce together. By your logic, that preference is wrong and disgusting. That is where I simply cannot agree with you. I cannot agree with the hypocritical arrogance that is having a preference of your own but degrading the preferences of others. That is what is wrong and disgusting.

Do you enjoy watching two wild boars mating? How about a pair of monkeys? Would that please you? If not, you cannot justify your judgement of another person's preferences. Everyone is disgusted by different things, in varying degrees. You're so defensive of your own personal preference that you've narrowed your perspective of the vast spectrum that is humanity. You've blinded yourself from objective reasoning, allowing only for subjective desire. You've grounded yourself in the belief that everyone should share your preference or risk vilification. If that isn't bigotry, redefine it.

Hahhhh.......you know, it's really hard to ignore that your post is one that's showing a huge amount of intolerance here. Just because you're on the other side of the argument doesn't mean intolerance is any more acceptable. Maintaining that anyone who doesn't agree with your or the majority's opinion is "wrong and disgusting" is exactly the tact the homophobes take. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Well, you both are right, I did come off as too intolerant; I stand corrected. However, my underlying opinion hasn't changed:
- I think racism and homophobia are wrong and disgusting. I can provide arguments, as long as you are not moral relativists.
- People weren't complaining about preferences, or whatever. They were saying that this story better not be a romance, because they were liking it, and so didn't want it to have anything to do with homosexuals. It wasn't the romance that would bother them: just the homosexuality. That is wrong.

Ah well, we all have our moments, no biggie.

And yeah, i agree with your original point, if people don't like it, that's fine. Not that I agree with their reasoning, but they've got a right to feel however they want. However, leaving a bunch of negative comments and down-rating a title just because they don't like the genre is a petty thing to do. It's basically trying to bait others into an argument or self-aggrandizing.........and that's nothing if not childish and immature.

It certainly is petty, no argument from me there. Again, though, it's not typically the same person leaving multiple comments but multiple people leaving similar comments. Annoying? Certainly. Wrong? No.

Anyway, it's beginning to look like I just want the last word so I'll shut up and get back in my cage now.
