So I'm sort of confused. I read through everything pretty fast so I might've missed something.

In the first chapter, it says everyone can meet their God once. If a wish isn't made, the God will turn into an animal and follow you.

Later in the story it says that the great 4 gods will disguise themselves as other animals to trick people. If someone knew they had one of the great 4, they would never make a wish.

I'm guessing if you make a wish, the God disappears, but then you can control its Anima?

So, what I'm confused about here is:

- If someone had one of the great 4, why wouldn't they want to make a wish?

- If you don't make a wish, does the god just follow you around? You can't use anima?

- After a wish, does the God disappear?

I'm really confused  ><

>If someone had one of the great 4, why wouldn't they want to make a wish?

Because the great four have the ability to grant wishes that can change fate. A wish from one of the great four has a heavy price. The one who made a wish with the Azure Dragon gained the ability to see into the future but lost a part of their body. The price may be the reason why not many want to make that wish.

>If you don't make a wish, does the god just follow you around? You can't use anima?

That does seem to be the case.

>After a wish, does the God disappear?

It seems the god just disappears but is always nearby until they are summoned.

It may not be that they can't use it but more like they don't want to depend on a weak anima or they don't know how because from what I saw the MC didn't know how to use his before he went to school, but I actually like your explanation better. I just felt like writing something.

I'm probably reading more into it than is there, however... I interpret the way it works as this: until you use the wish, the way you could use the anima is... generic.  And, also not down to you at all: the god is still following you, after all.  They're the ones in control of the power and until your choice, little is up to you. :)

The choice of the wish may solidify the details: it's a type of contract that forms what you, personally, can do with the anima your time with the particular god in question does and what your choice helped shape of it in turn.  Without all that coming together, you have an incomplete vessel unable to do the job of directing the flow. :)

Well, maybe.

Seems to me like "the wish" has two parts:

1: You're granted a wish, the limitations of which, are determined by your god.

2: You enter a sort of contract/merging/symbiosis... Your god no longer appears as a companion but manifests itself through your power.

yes I agree with #1, that said, I dont think the MC knows the conditions of the said contract. Or am I imagining things here.

Yep, pretty much.

The dark anima, (did I say it right?) I think follows the theory that says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.. or the philosophy of the Yin Yang in chinese I guess. Anyway this character concept was based closely to chinese feng shui.. right?
