Wow, I didn't realize that someone had published this in English, saw it in the bookstore and grabbed volume 1 today.
Being partially deaf myself, I can tell you this manga is very realistic. My ability to hear is greatly dependant on where I am, who's talking and whether or not I can watch their mouth. In some situations the noise around me can totally drown out someone's voice even if the noise isn't loud. It can be frustrating and I don't always want to have the other party repeat themselves. Anyway, be assured it's realistic from someone who lives a smiliar existence.
I'm gonna... push back on that. It's very realistic in a lot of important ways. Disabilities usually aren't consistent in general, but then you factor in stress (a huge factor, actually) and tools and treatments... I'm very satisfied with how it's portrayed. And tbh seeing Kouhei and Maya's experiences is a huge comfort, at least for me.

the way the manga deals with the hearing disability is kinda sloppy and inconsequent: in one panel kouhei has (severe) problems to hear what people say, in another one he just talks and hears normally as if there's no disability at all. it looks, he only misses the important things. the plot developement feels a little bit forced because of that aspect ._.
I feel like... there has to be more than that! T _T

actually it's more like she forgot that this was going to be a romance (this is published in a bl magazine, so there kind of has to be some sort of romance element to the story)
but it's still great that she was so into developing them that she forgot that, since it makes the bond between kouhei and taichi a lot more well written
I want a new chapter.. Please, scanlation-sama. The patience is killing me!
love this, I especially love the chapter on kouhei's past...! Interesting that in the omake the author said she initially wasn't going to make it a romance which I think can kind of be seen, nevertheless, I love the relationship between the two
