Sorry for anyone who already read the novel until 9 volume, its not good. I can say it. It not good at all. What did someone mean by "the story is progressing." I read it too. In term of chara development and writing skill, the Rakudai Author is clearly above that Asteriks. I read both.

A YouTube channel called Digibro did a 13 part break down of the anime. It's more entertaining then this could ever be. Go watch it instead of reading this.

What? Rakudai doesn't even have story progression, as it focus it's attention in personal relationships, most of the time, and when a story arc begins it ends quite fast. Rakudai only progresses it's character, it's story goes nowhere, as the author takes his goddamn time to do it.

It sure feels like Christmas. Thanks!

Nope, Rakudai doesn't have a strong story, it depends more on characters to develop itself, while in Asterisk we do have a story that is slowly introduced as the chapters and volumes go. By the time you reach volume 9 you cease to think that Rakudai is better, unless you favor romance and fixed couples

but you first had to reach 9 volumes and that's a problem, this one doesn't have the strength to make you want to read 9 volumes xD, Rakudai I don't know if I could get so far (don't like much reading LN for action harem series), but the manga/anime of rakudai are still better in the earlier arcs

Rakudai is better in everything except for battles.

The chunibyo is real. Pretty much skipped the first chapter because I couldn't even keep up with what they were saying. Same plot as Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan and Seirei Tsukai no Kenbu, so didn't lose too much by doing so. Still, enjoyable so far.

It's better than Rakudai Kishi if you consider plot(Rakudai is heavily character focused, as such it is easier to relate to characters, but that's all, plot wise it is weaker), as it keeps getting better once you advance into the story. Fights also get better, and although the MC is powerful enough, he still have room for growth, both in power and as a person

That said, its implied that Saya is short even for a Japanese girl, only taller than Kirin, who is 3 years younger than Saya.

Saya is shorter than Kirin.

Was Saya always short ? I probably never noticed... but I thought she was the same height as Julis ?

They gloss over it in the manga, but not in the LN.  Yeah, Saya is about a foot (30 cm) shorter than Ayato, and 5-6 inches (about 15cm) shorter than Julis.  Remember, Julis is European, and European girls are generally notably taller than Japanese girls.

Mushoku Tensei for you then. Not quite what you want, but the essence is the same. The rest would mostly be hentai manga but you asked for realistically right?

I feel that 'strength to protect' and 'friendship' are essential though and not gag-worthy.

That said, does this save it from being a plot cliche in most stories? Nope. But cliches work for a reason. It depends on how they are handled. In this case though, it was rather plain cliche. But on the scale of things, this is just some extra info really and only the basic concept will carry over to the next arc rather than becoming a major device.

This is what I meant by training seeing as you didn't get it

I need a manga where the MC realistically gets a Harem with time and events, but is too much busy being a badass and living the live to occupy himself with romance so he goes around the world doing shit and kicking asses and the harem girls stay only as reacurring characters.....this sounds a little like Index and Gintama...

That is like a lot of manga. Most of us have long since lost our gag reflex. We be trained

"But, muh nakama!"

How often have we guzzled and forced that slime down our throats when we were parched? "protecting someone important to me" is kids stuff compared the nakama. That's all the someones, a mascot character and likely an inanimate object or three.

It felt like they were shoving the "protecting someone important to me" down my throat in that chapter.

That sounds a little like the first half of The World God Only Knows

why all manga lately playing MC as person who magically attracted Heroine,,
why dont make story like MC couple already when, they struggle together,,

there is many plot you can open after they become a couple..

Wow. Sex after the first date already? Must be because of Ayato's big sword.... LMAO!

Julis gave him a look as soon as he said it. so... they kind of made it obvious. would have been better if she hadnt caught it, then it would have been more subtle, trickier for readers to catch

Yeah, wish they didn't show that so obviously... xP

I'm sorry, but this manga is so stale.
