Nah. Because it's not something he mentioned until "after" it was a moment of clarity of "...oh... these two are similar" not so much "she is a replacement". Plus she's already pretty forcefully impacted on his heart by basically showing him "the path he needs to take" and encouraging him to not just try and force an ideal on others. Otherwise he'd make the son that he cares for... exactly like her, someone unable to be close to others. She's not confident about it but, in my opinion she's pretty much already won his heart.  Not as a replacement but, as someone who was there for him at his darkest.

Bambi sounds exactly like the dead girlfriend she's constantly comparing herself to. Speaking as someone who has similar issues with insecurity as Bambi at times, if I were her I know it would be in the back of my mind whether or not Tetsu really loved me or only loved me because I was like Sachi. I hope Bambi gets more chances to stand apart from Sachi in Tetsus heart!

I don't think Raichi is Tetsu's kid. But I think he'll want to abandon him because of that, till our girl reminds him that they're still family even though they aren't related, just like her and her family. She'll ask him stuff like "do you want Raichi to go through what I did" and such.

I also don't think Raichi is Tetsu's kid.  Frankly, I strongly suspect he and Tetsu's mom never even had sex.  But I don't think he'll want to abandon him--that seems to me completely opposed to everything that makes him tick.  And finally, I suspect that the eventual resolution will be the one that makes sense to Japanese but not to me (because I've seen this kind of thing a few times before) that they will in fact end up handing Raichi over to these blood-related nobodies who were never around for Raichi before.  Notice how important it was to Tetsu's grandmother whether he was the real father or not--to me it's like, Tetsu raised the kid, Tetsu loves the kid, nobody else has that qualification, nobody else was there for Raichi when he needed them, so who cares if he's genuinely blood related or not?  But nobody is saying anything like that; even to Tetsu, blood relation trumps everything, which is why he's so desperately insistent he's the real father--in Japanese terms without that he has no standing.  This is going to be about him letting go, both of Raichi and of Raichi's mom, as Japanese society in the form of adult blood relations take the un-teenage responsibility away from him and he moves towards a normal conventional teenage life and this is seen as allowing the romance to move forward since he'll be able to have a normal conventional teenage romance. 
 
I hate it.  Everything cool about him was because he wasn't a normal conventional teenager but was experiencing emotions and taking responsibilities beyond his years, and that's exactly what made Bambi fall for him.  Japanese societal convention can get bent.  But, I understand the near inevitability of it.  Something like it happened in Love So Life, in Aishiteruze Baby and others, and every time it made no emotional sense to me.  But it makes complete sense in Japanese social terms.

American society/law would also probably be on the side of the maternal grandparents in this situation too, should it turn out that Tetsu isn't the biological father. I agree that its a bit messed up, especially since its clear that they weren't interesting in supporting the child or the mother before now.

Yes, that's true--but an Anglosphere story about it would consider this a problem--something worth resisting or at least mitigating.  Japanese stories consider it the proper moral order reasserting itself.

I hate characters like Kakeru that literally pin girls down and terrify them with the threat of sexual assault, but hey, no big deal 'cause they become/continue being friends later. ._.

Rest of the manga's pretty good though.
