Well, chapter 10 is out, and it seems to be getting more and more confusing. I can't understand why everyone in power and in his household seems to kowtow and be obedient to the sadistic/psychopathic slob who stole Aoi's sketchbook. Everyone seems to believe his lightest pronouncement (Aoi and Kyoko destroyed the two cities!), when he obviously has no charisma or any other quality that would make people, even stupid ones, trust him. Perhaps he has some mind-altering powers (drugs or what not) from the period before the war. He has to have something, because he has all the charm of a combo of Kim Jong Il and Bozo the Clown.

I also wonder what is in the Navy character's mind (forgot his name also), as he was in contact with someone and seemed to be talking to them about Aoi, and then comes back for her and says he is going to help her. I'm beginning to think this manga is going to get even more convoluted, and has settled in for the long haul. I hope it continues to be interesting and entertaining.

Does anyone have any theories, or perhaps saw something that I missed?

Well you can't say it's predictable.

In ch9 page 14 they give a very half-assed explanation as to why they work for the slob. It really is infuriating.

I'm just gonna have to reread the whole thing, since I forgot what happened before this sudden resumption of releases.

Ahh you did miss one thing, they blamed Kuryu's destruction on Aoi (the last chapter of volume 1 for reference) but Sendou's destruction on Aoi's older sis Asamiya (Aoi's sister the one she's looking for, not Kyoko) which happens to be true it seems from chapter 9 page 19 and chapter 6 page 1. But what annoys me is how the author purposely confuses you by adding character on character and not telling you what organization they are apart of ¬_¬. But from what I see that fat guy (kudou) is actually one of the military leaders that you see in chapter 9 pages 3 through 9. Also just as he said before everyone has their own sense of justice and it looks like all of the people in the military don't have the same type, I mean what general would go along with a person trying to blame someone who is innocent! (and then he was probably the one who told him to blow up kuryu, I'm peeved...).

Then this is what makes this whole thing interesting, it seems the rulers of the countries don't like the military. In chapter 6 "mei-sama" (the ruler of kuryu it seems) doesn't want to comply with that kudou guy and ends up trying to attack him, only to lose of course, then in chapter 9 he says he found a replacement for her, so I'm guessing not only are the military trying to lure Asamiya by using Aoi but get rid of anyone who is trying to get in their way. This manga is awesome and underrated! Also why is that little girl that's with Kudou (Noro I think she's called) telling him to let Aoi leave without the sketchbook is she some important person too O_o?

Sweet, updates again!

---------------------------------

So that's how it ends? Well I'm glad it didn't turn into a war story, but I felt it could have spent a little more time in adventure mode before finishing. It seems so short; I think a gradual buildup of discovering her history would have been better than rushing it all in before the end. I'll definitely keep watching the author for more of his works.
