I don't see why Utaha and Eri supposedy "betrayed" Tomoya?

They agreed to work on Akane's project _before_ Tomoya suggested his new project. Working for the circle does not mean that Tomoya has exclusive rights over them. I can understand that Tomoya is shocked, and if I was in Utaha/Eri's shoes, I'd look and feel pained and a trace guilty, too - but if Tomoya seriously holds it against them, he's a selfish jerk (and in case people have forgotten - he's been a selfish jerk for a long time).

Let's see how things develop from here.

it's not really about the project, more they betrayed their friend and didn't even tell him about it before he contacted them and had he not contacted them he might not even have known

Its a shame they wont make more manga or animate the part of the LN where its revealed that everything Eriri and Utaha did and sacrificed was completely pointless.

Oh god, do tell.

The manga unfortunately ends at chapter 42. Which is where season 2 of anime ends. At least we have light novels with translations that go beyond TwT)!!

Do we? I thought the series' LN translation had been stalled for a long time.

Damn, that's shallow.

I'm talking about skill here. All he's using are famous, well-accomplished people to do the work for him. Most of the PR comes from already fans of Eriri and Utahagaoka.

If you mean the pretty boy who can be mistaken for a girl archetype. They already have a tsundere childhood halfie friend, a sharp-tongued older, sexy senpai, incest route - cousin, and a cute, younger sister vibe kouhai. The only thing new is the boring girlfriend, lol.

Volume 8 goes until chapter 42. As far as I could tell, this manga artist took maybe a break of the main series to write the side story which is now currently at chapter 9.

Does this continue??

Good for those two. They are seriously too good for him. He had SS-level items when he's only a rank C or D. If he wants to be able to equip such rare and high-level items, he better level up and start training with people more his speed.

Not that I like these archetypes, but I hope a pretty boy like kojurou from Masamune joins the circle. I need a little air~

What chapter is the end of the 1st season of the anime?

And which volume is chapter 40 in the LN?

Chapter 40 is volume 7. Honestly, I can't stand the developments from then onward. It's so hamfisted and the drama feels really forced.

I completely forgot where the manga was, so I read the ch.23 again, and (still thinks Megumi has to be the final girl), but

that face of happiness (Utaha is really great too)

Spoiler

another release thank you.

Megumi is all he needs really. Both literally and figuratively.

Yay! Thank you!

For anyone wonder what happen betwen c22 - c40 here is the summary:

warning, heavy spoiler ahead, read at your own risk

In the professional game development scene, companies usually include a non-competition clause in contracts which prevent you from working for another company for a period of time even after separating from said company.

so even if he does something to get the two back they legally cant work with him again at this point, due to signing on with a professional company.

the only option for the foreseeable future is working with others, while Sawamura and Kasumigaoka can only work for their new client.

Not just game development, almost every kind of business has something like this

Dunno if a circle counts as a business though

they released ch.23, was I just the only one that had to read the one before cause didn't remember in what part they were (specially since reading 40 and 41 the other days xD)

Betrayed and he can't even be truly mad at them, damn that is sad.

holy shit, that really broke my heart

Really puts that comedy tag into perspective..... :(

Business as usual in the land of Gamindustri. I'm just interested on how the MC will react to this. Hopefully, it won't be long before he finds another writer and illustrator for the project.

I think a close parallel is like quitting your job right before a big deadline without giving a few weeks notice in advance. Its a huge kick in the balls, as it pretty much implies that the new project will fail or not be as complete as envisioned as replacements need to be urgently found, which for creative work is near impossible. True Tomoya was a pretty big douche, but Eri/Utaha's actions were not spectacular either. But I agree, he would be somewhat naive if he actually holds it against them.
