If you have no idea how to read katakana, use a dictionary, cuz it tells you it means "quick", which makes absolutely more sense for a speed type.

And to begin with, even the fucking kanji mean "high speed".

Not going to spoil anything here, but I've read up to volume 4 of the LN and the manga's actually very, very much tamer compared to what's written in the original source. And those who love harems would probably be overjoyed that Basara is actually 'unintentionally' building one up.

The casualties weren't even caused by Basara, he just dissappeared the corpses.

 

My guess is the elders lied to saved face, they wouldn't just tell the promising youngsters of the village: "The adults were scared of Basara's powers and thus reached a consensus to kick him out since we couidn't control his development".

I think the reason this Shiba guy is out of the village is precisely because they are still scared of Basara, something like using a monster to control another monster, even if he is just "monitoring" or whatever.

Their whole conversation looks like the son (Basara) is telling his mother (Sensei) about his problems.

Then these guys show up, talking about how he's a traitor and "turned his back on the village and its mission"? Am I the only one who doesn't get this leap in logic here? They kicked him out. What the hell does he care about their mission anymore when he's not even one of them? And all after he was kicked out trying to save Yuki's life. And he's the traitor?
