very. He has a crazy amount of prana (mana? i forget) but that's not what makes him strong. He was limited in his use of it at a young age because he doesn't have the amount of control that someone like Julis has in order to use it to it's full effect. he's good enough now to not simply be a walking bomb, as he is older, but the amount he can use hasn't been released from it's seal yet (for reasons i will not explain). What makes him so strong, when including the power that he can pull out of himself, is his excellent skill with a sword, his cunning, and also his style of fighting. as someone said already, Kirin is a prodigal swordsman and was #1 until he dropped her, but the way he did it is credited to his style of fighting. While her style is optimized for destroying people in 1 on 1 duels, Ayato's style is old school, made for fighting and surviving on the battlefield, kind of like comparing a modern day judo practitioner to a samurai using jujitsu. Though, Ayato is no where near the most powerful in this series.

In the very least, he isn't Ichika who loses or downright gets his butt wrecked in every non-serious battle he fights.

I'm bringing up infinite stratos because okiura is doing the illustrations in the novel/animu

Well in Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan the main characters confess their mutual love for each other and enter into a relationship fairly early on in the story. Doesn't stop his harem from growing but they're still a couple.

Stella doesn't flirt with him though 

He is a siscon, he even say Julis has the same eyes than his big sis.

And that the reason he will stay with her i suppose.

Like the dude in Freezing who think Satellizer is the same than his sister.
