pretty easy to understand. Different publishers have different rules they follow concerning how much of the body is allowed.

Nana to Kaoru actually shows less of the female body than Futari Ecchi, at least until now. Nipples, like in this manga? Nowhere to be seen. What it has is of course SM, as that is the theme of that manga. But while some of the stuff looks drastic at first, the psychologic allure behind it is always well explained and it is repeatedly stated that nobody is in any actual danger of getting harmed. Also, the characters are portraied really well. That and the psychology behind it is why I read Nana to Kaoru. I actually don't care about the ecchi or the SM at all. And I've actually only took a peak inside here because I remembered reading a few chapters of Futari Ecchi ~10 years ago and wanted to see where it went in the meantime.

but Nana to Kaoru is about bondage and S&M ... and the mere mention of it is enough to get the censors rabid with prudery

@TaruBoss for real? well not saying your wrong but i did see a 50- something volume once online in japanese but i can't remember where
