Because it's not like they live in the 19th century, yeah? Because feminism was such a huge thing back then yeah?
See yourself out wanker.

...So you agree that describing it as patriarchal is accurate, then? Since you also observe that it's a decidedly pre-feminism setting.

...What was your issue, exactly?
What honorific was she using, just san?

I haven't read a manga with an MC this manly since JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

He sorta looks like Jotaro, doesn't he?

this some boring ass patriarchal bullshit

Hmm, I can see where you're coming from, arranged marriage and whatnot. The dad did marry her off, but in this case to someone he deemed fit for her.

muh soggy knee

well then, you wasting your time reading this, you can't find nothing but some (cute) act of newly wed (for me this is giving me diabetus)

Agreed. I mean, they're all really worried over one thing or another (Ulysses over formality since he wants to be part of the family, Lea over being a proper wife, her brothers over her happiness). Sometimes their worry translates strangely into words, is all. And yeah, definitely getting the diabetes from too much sugary fluff. XD

Well... that certainly was adorable. *melts into a puddle*

Now who wouldn't want a wife like that?

I got teary eyed at the end of the last chapter, so sweet!!! :'D

Goddamn.

Ulises is a role model for me now.

What a great guy.

Or putting 50-year old man into head of sales department, where he had to travel around the city non-stop during work hours.

And did I also mention wage cut?

Hnnnnnnngh >.< -heart explodes from the sweetness-

It's a technique used in some companies to put troublesome people out of the way without firing them or make them resign so they can't get pension or severance pay. Promoted to Department Chief of Paper archives, in the basement that no one really go to and managing stacks of paper that are so out of date that no one would ever ask for. Just log in and sit for 8 hours a day doing nothing. But it seems they just want the guy out of the way since he might be useful in the future.

Yep. "Transfer to Alaska" is what I've heard it called, too. The idea is to make the job so boring that if the person is any good or has any pride, they'll quit, and if they're not, they'll stay out of the way of people who are better at it than they are, without causing any more personality conflicts in the company.

The individual person may be excellent at his/her job, but a complete ass in the eyes of everyone else in the company. In which case, it doesn't matter how good that person is-- if they're a nightmare to be around, then sending them off somewhere unpleasant and remote removes the problem for everyone else, and will probably increase productivity.

Of course, it sucks if you are the person who is viewed as "the Problem."
