The synopsis reads: "... Be it wasting time crafting potions, cooking up pointlessly tasty food, or hunting monsters with some absurd weapon he crafted, he simply enjoys playing the game." It doesn't have the Slice of Life tag fer nothin'.
That's exactly what he always wanted, lol, and unfortunately for you that latter half is what this manga is actually focus on.
Gotta say, the first half of chap 36 was pretty nice, but the latter half was a piece of crap.
Now that the MC has truly did everything he can to avoid the plot and destroy any path given to him, he truly begins to submerge in mundane activities.
It still relevant actually. Some of his mindset when playing this game is typical "ossan". Heck, that is the reason why he sometimes goes all philosophical.
It does have bad cliche executions but...
-It's actually implied many times that outside of Archery, many other players had innovated their own meta. For example the HAND GRENADE, and the MUD FLAME. The manga just never focus on other players and their meta. Plus, it's not like MMORPG anywhere is not ripe with stupid players who just ask veterans for the best class/equipment/build and never innovates, even irl.
-I don't see where the things you said to be "over the top". Recent chapters have Earth cooking, living, and managing his skills just casually.
I realy can't decide likeing this manga or not. My problem is the main character and some of the plot.
He is the only one thinking in this mmo, while every other player stupid at best.
First i thought this story casualy goes with things like cooking, living and how manage his skills(what is actualy base skills in every mmo for a ranger), but now all of the stuff going on is over the top.
What do you mean?
Technically, this would fall into a subcategory of the "isekai" genre. The protagonist is from the "modern world" and we watch his exploits in "another world" with different setting and rules from the modern world. So what if said world is a VRMMORPG and thus isn't technically real? It's still "another world" compared to the "modern world." That's enough for it to be "isekai" by definition.

I've got some strong disagreements here, my dude. If you did that then you'd miss out on great manga like Golden Kamuy.

Things I would do if I were king of the world #330623:
Instantly axe any non-cooking manga that releases a useless tangent cooking chapter.
That'll make em think twice...
When you can't think of a story filler, make a cooking chapter. Always works.
It's safe to say that MMO games in his world, besides the whole sci-fi thing, obviously doesn't follow the same rules as ours. + he has the luck stat of an MC that got blessed by truck-kun.
