You have three processes for heat transfer :
1) Convection which is the transfer of heat by the movement of fluids (e.g. air cooling) which can't happen here as the is no air.
2) Conduction which is the transfer of heat between two regions at a different temperature (without movement of fluids). This is primarily what happens inside solids. The conduction here would primarily happen between any surface in contact with the ground (the vacuum is indeed an insulent for conduction). As you reduce the surface, you reduce the heat transfer ratio. You can also use insulent materials which don't conduct well the heat to reduce the heat loss (like the material used in the emergency blanket).
3) Radiation which happens as soon as matter has a temperature above absolute zero. The matter emits an electromagnetic wave (which CAN travel in a vacuum) whose wavelength and energy depends on the temperature (the higher the temperature, the higher the energy). This is why hot bodies glows (e.g. the sun, light bulbs...). One way to limit this energy loss is what is done in the manga : to use a material which can reflect back the wave (and is why emergency blankets are shiny).

He's still emitting thermal radiation (infrared), so his body will cool down soon. No need for contact to other atoms for that.

I don't think that nothing can be done about the isolation of the EVA suit being damaged and Damian growing cold.

Unless I am mistaken, outside space, being truly genuinely empty, should be able to act as an almost perfect "isolation", there's nothing into which warmth could flow to.
No cold atoms and molecules waiting to take a part of the energy of the cosmonaut's atoms and molecules.

In that regard, the solution would be to heave Damian's body and position him in another way, with his suit's damaged part not pointing to the ground, but pointing towards outside space... no ?
