I really want to know more about the apparently infectious nature of magic here. Hoping it's not "just because" - a good explanation is a beautiful thing. Maybe something related to the metaphysics of the parallel worlds.

Dont think Kurumi is a magician since she was acutally surprised about the glasses not hurting and stuff, it was a coincidence that they met her in the house... I doubt the mother is magician either. I think the reason why Aiba "recognised" the mother was that it has something to do with the mystery of the brother/s (his and her borther are maybe connected?).....

But you might be right that she was saved by a magician and that we will see it in the next chapter

Looking at the flashback though, it looks like she knows about magic so it could be that the enemy was about to kidnap her to their base but someone else interfere.

 

In this case, given Mai's previous remark about Takeshi's mom, it could be that his mom is a magician from the school and after saving Kurumi decides she has to be transferred now that the enemy knows of her existence.

 

I'm sure the next chapter will start with how Kurumi got saved.
