The last 2 novels in a nutshell:

It's been a while, and I honestly tried to forget most of it—it's that bad. The author wrote the final volumes after learning that his ex-girlfriend died; he was quite depressed and it shows.

The Earth gets obliterated by a comet. Akuto more or less become a god and is able to control and manipulate the universe. In the afterlife, he marries 3 of the girls, has sex with them, remakes the world many times, and finally returns to the old universe to pick up Kena (who is in suspended animation for reasons I don't care about) before they leave to some other plane of existence. In the meantime, Mizuki-sensei gives oodles of pointless discourse of the meaning of reality, stories, and whatnot.

Oh, and Brave and the time-travelling guy meld and become one existence. They're left alone in the old empty universe to retell Akuto's story.

Honestly, it's a really pitiful how the story devolves

heh, sort of an Eveongalion-esque ending. THe original not the new one.

I didn't know that this was a manga.

I read the LN. It started to go out into left field in the last two volumes. That ending left me asking, huh, what, and why? All at the same time. This was the first LN I ever wished I stopped were the anime ended. Itseems the manga will end at the same spot. Do not feel bad at this cliffhanger. You have been spared!

So then what is the ending to the LN? Abridged if you would.

I love seeing some upstart/speedscanner do a couple chapters then the slow monolith waking from its slumber to push out chapters it probably had been sitting on scripts for for months.
