Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

HE LIVES IN A CASTLE. WHAT. THE. HECK. Anyway, I've sort of forgotten why the heck his brother wants him to be a part of the family but I can't be bothered to read all the way back through the last story arc :/

we could see the same thing as hikari do in S.A series by misaki left japan and go to england and save usui or misaki might not go to england and keep waitting for usui to return to japan. but seriously this arc of usui going to england just start too so i cant tell much on what will happen yet after his brother wont let him see his grandfather just yet at this point and i think this will let to another walker family arc too -.-

First, I don't see how he could possibly have been stopped from coming back for multiple years. How hard is it? He's traveling around nomadically, he can travel back home. Near as I can make out, he just sort of lost track of time. Really, WTF? Or maybe it took that long to muster the guts to show his face; I can sort of see that, but . . .
Second, whatever the case, it's not Misaki's problem. So he had his reasons for betraying her and leaving her in the lurch. That's great, I hope they were reasons that mattered a lot to him so that they're worth what he lost. But that doesn't mean he gets it both ways. He did what was important to him, and the price he pays is that his family resents him for abandoning them . . . because that's what he did. His reasons were important to him, but they had nothing to do with Misaki; it wasn't for her benefit, and it wasn't her fault. So even if she concedes that yeah, in some abstract way he's a great guy, he's still the guy who left her poor and alone for ten years. She went through a lot of real hardship because he decided his honour was worth making her pay that price. So even if an onlooker might say they can see why he did it, there's no reason she should forgive him.

If you're a single guy w/ no attachments, sure, go run off after your friend to help him out. But if you're married w/ kids (esp. young kids), you don't go off gallivanting around the globe for any reason (except maybe working for their sakes). While I think that the Ayuzawa's should've welcomed him back w/ open arms (in an ideal world), their treatment of him wasn't in the least bit surprising, and in truth, I think they gave him better than he deserved. He needs his man card revoked--but then again, w/ all that blubbering he did, maybe it was taken away a long time ago...

While I do understand your views on this, I think it should be mentioned that one shouldn't be so quick to criticize. It was already mentioned that he never planned on staying away for so long, and there are some who believes strongly in saving lives rather than trying to maintain a happy family life. While I also think those people are a bit crazy, seeing as it goes against evolutionary instincts (the drive to protect one's family) it is however not how everybody feels. It was his friend who could've been in mortal peril (he wasn't but he could've been, there was no way for Sakkun to know) so he left his family believing he would find this friend as soon as he possibly could and then return home. I think it will show how skilled of an author Fujiwara-sensei really is depending on how this father-arc will unfold.
