I'm sure you found out already, but YES! If you loved the anime, you'll love the manga.
Some people didn't like the anime, saying it was not LOL-funny. But the anime was slice-of-afterlife-funny, which I prefer.
Is there another group that you could do a joint with? Or maybe they could help you find a translator?
I suppose the original manga doesn't have furigana since it's a seinan.

Is the manga as awesome as the anime? Because I absolutely LOVE the anime.
this manga isn't that great for the first 2 volumes, but at around volume 3 it gets more interesting, and currently at volume 12 and am in love with it

Hum. I must say I wasn't expecting a messy love triangle among a treacherous deceased samurai, a taxi, and a ghostly paper lantern. Especially with My Neighbor Totoro references mixed in.
