it's because you don't stay beside them long enough when they become series after their one shot debut.
Follow this for a while and you might be able to see it grow.
This is a really good oneshot.
And yeah, nice one shot. No real development for the male character since it's a bit short, and the female lead's motivations seem kinda hollow for the same reason, but the author did a good job packing all of this in less than 50 pages. I guess.
Art is good, so are the fight scenes but most of all the story
