Actually it is "senpai" since it divides "se-n-pa-i". In Japanese phonetic alphabeth there is no letter "m", therefore it can't be spelled "sempai".
Japanese doesn't distinguish between n and m, meaning that both senpai and sempai are fine and a matter of preference.
Additionally, I do agree with matdra concerning the rather liberal translation regarding those terms.
1. It's senpai, not sempai.
2. Stop being a weeaboo.
But it reproduce the ambiance from the game fearly well, so for fan of the Raidou Kuzunoha VS. game, the rating go up to 4/5. (Pretty good for a licensed product)
My only complaint come from some translation choise : elder for sempai (nagi being about the same age a raidou, elder is quite the odd word here), and busboy, wich is clearly a americanisation of his look, since his cloth are mostly based of the on the boy highsscholl uniform from 1800. That uniform is also the origin of the scheering squad club uniform of today.
For this era of fan translation, where we try to reproduse the original feeling and where word like sempai are well know, this is too weird.
Can't wait for the next chapter!!!
Congratulations, Geirin Kuzunoha the 18th!
(If you played the game you know what I mean)
the game had romance side stories involving the main character so romance is no surprise if it is actually in here
I don't know why but he reminds me of Astro Boy for some bizarre reason.
