I don't understand why people freak out about the title using "bestest." It's used all the time by proper English speakers as a cutesy, comical way of saying best. It's not as if every example of improper English in Japanese works is unintentional; when I read the title my first impression was that it was every bit intentional.

Regarding the title, it's the name that MAITAKE named it as in English. I have no intention on changing it.

There's really nothing wrong with the story, it's just about a vampire princess who ends up being forced to become a pet due to a huge blunder on her escort's part and her (now) dire need for Akari's blood.

It'll become a romance, if anybody is wondering. And no, it's not a harem.

Abraham is just the name of the anti-vampire organization, it doesn't really have anything to do with Lincoln.

While I understand the need of similar system so there would be no conflict and no war would breack out, but the point that it is called "Pet Project" And they forced too have coulors on and owners all the time instead of integration into sociaty with ability to buy blood as we do food, do not smell as contract between equals at all. It most likelly purposelly degrading, most likelly as vampires where much smaller in numbers compared to humans, they where preasured into it on the pain of death.

But lest not fall into hystery for now, this unequality might actually be part of the plot instead of just mere conviniance on the authors part, after all we readers far to often underestimate the authors these days, no?

What I am understanding is less of a slavery thing and more of a necessity thing.

Basically, vampires need blood to stay alive. To get blood, vampires need to feed on humans. And originally vampires preyed on humans which caused humans to retaliate. As we can see, that did not end well for either side. So now to get blood, vampires work for humans in exchange for that blood. I'm guessing the most convenient way to do that was the whole pet contract thing.

This first chapter was okay... I'm going to need to read a few more chapters before I make a definite decision though.
