That princess is way too random, i can at least pinpoint Esdese personality, however i have no clue as to whether that princess is really evil or it's all a ruse form the start and she's just misguided
I remember enjoying this until whatever hiatus happened... but now this just sucks and I can't be bothered to figure out where it became a giant dog turd. I feel like I'm reading Maken-Ki without either T&A or further main character development.

been looking at the raws, up to the current(42) and the princess reminds me of esdesse lol. OP was made for them lol. the MC's are quite similiar(mentality wise) to.

heh already saw her death flag a long time ago, so knew this was going to happen.
It's too easy to see that the MC was going to be traumatized after what happened. It's a common generic situation for weak pathetic MCs like him. Of course there's nothing wrong with weak MC, except that they annoy the hell out of me.
Anyways this plot situation is seen many times in other animes and manga, such as Guilty Crown.
1. Main character in troubling situation too weak to do anything
2. Important person to MC dies, making him realize his helplessness
3. MC gets traumatized and turns pessimistic
4. Eventually someone close to the MC will make him snap out his pathetic mindset and make him grow up.
Also, I like how later in the chapter the doctor makes him realize what a bitch he is.
I don't want to read a manga with a main character that could take that kind of emotional pain no problem.

it's getting rediculous how OP the mangaka is making the princess. she apparently has multiple crests or can at least use multiple crests. her void maker is stronger than both of the other void makers combined(i think). also, i just looked at the raws for 24 and even when she was like 8-9 she could already use her void maker. add to that the fact that she seemingly evolves every time she enters one of those things(the thing they are trying to keep her from). in the latest one she has freaking wings and crests all over her. the mangaka has basically set her up to be some unbeatable demi god. it's getting to the point where it's almost no fun to read because you already know who's gonna win.
easier said than done. his reaction and mentality right now is perfectly normal. id say it's very much realistic

She's coming back. There was too much weird stuff going on with her own crest thingy in earlier chapters, for her to just get tossed aside. Besides, Il and Touko have a bunch of history with each other already, so I'd give half-decent odds on the cat having sudden digestive problems next chapter, courtesy of some plot-armor-powered crest reaction thingy. Or possibly they fuse, creating a giant-boobed homicidal loli.
