Does anyone know exaclty which order this series is in?
SPOILER WARNING
From what i've read, i think her journey goes like this=
- starts on the ship 1967 (memories of emanon),
- leaves ship and lives in the book store (wandering emanon). I can only make this connection because she orders the same book that the guy on the ship reads and she couldn't have known about the book otherwise.
- finds her brother
And this is where im confused. After she and her brother agree to never meet again it shows a montage of her having another daughter and then that daughter running away from what appears to be a group of hitmen sent by the brother.
Is this the daughter of emanon after she looses her memories and the journalist guy? The same daughter that meets the ship guy at the train station?
Based on Tsuruta Kenji's blog from September 26th, 2016 (https://www45.atwiki.jp/tsurucale/pages/806.html), he's still working on the rest of Wandering Emanon '80, but there's absolutely no release date that he can give.
He did drop a hint that Wandering Island (another of his manga which has only seen 1 volume with a "to be continued" story...) will come out before the next chapter of Wandering Emanon... So... Take that how you want, but it's both good news, and... bad news? Lol.
Japanzai dead...

God this is making me want to find a group to play Eclipse Phase with.
I'm told that the rest of the guys are trying to find a reliable source of raws.
Is it back? Is my baby back? ;;
Just finished reading Memories of Memanon and the last current chapter of Wandering Emanon.
I love this kind of melancholic manga <3
Reminds me of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou!
3 pages long is not enough to feed this hunger yo =(
Many thanks for the update Japanzai!
New series? It's been a year, and my favourite piece is gettin what it could do without but is also better for having. Art gets me every time.
You blew my mind. Of course it isn't!
No it's not, emanon explains it in memories of emanon. Basically in the story she's in a situation where she doesn't want to give a name, and he(the male character in memories of emanon)'s asking for a name so she comes up with emanon for the reason you stated.
so is it coincidence that Emanon backwards is Noname?
I don't want to be THAT GUY, but... that is possibly the worst news I could have ever heard.
HOW MUCH LONGER TILL ANOTHER CHAPTER?!?
Translation-wise, yes.
The author has released 8 or 9 books in the original novel form, but the manga's got some time to go yet before it's caught up to the novels (think of it as an especially well-matured version of Spice and Wolf).
are the chapters up to date?
Hmm, so the difference is that this time next-Emanon should care about the memory of the father.
But is that because her previous father was just a horrible person, or is that because something really changed ?
I guess we'll see better in a next Emanon arc, i hope that if she's caring about the memory of her father, she'll actually care about him in his life too, maybe visiting him sometime instead of abandonning him to his sadness like she did for the other fathers.
Now i wonder what's going to happen with the brother, will the Emanon-next system apply to him, i mean looking for a woman to bear his next-himself or is there a completely different rule with him (similarly to that other time wandering woman that difference was that she travelled time in the opposite direction)
We learned already she will meet him 30 years after their original encounter.

so very likely next arc
So, Emanon's brother starts chasing down his sister after she has reincarnated into the next Emanon (daughter) that appears at the end of memories of Emanon?
But something's DIFFERENT about this cycle.
First is the twin brother.
Second, is shown in the original Memories of Emanon.
For all intents and purposes, this short prequel work is canonical (they even show the ferry Emanon boarded to Kyushuu from Memories in Wandering). If you've read that, you know that the epilogue (13 years after Memories in '67, therefore 1980) shows a new Emanon about 10 years old with a functioning mother not in a vegetative state. The young Emanon also mentions that "she gets married" not long after getting off the ferry. I'm assuming that mother is the current Emanon in Wandering Emanon (1973). The scene at the train station affirms that the memories were passed on, but the mother is still a functional person.
I don't actually know how Wandering Emanon pans-out, but I think the whole point of Wandering Emanon is to show that something about the cycle, something within the 13 years mentioned in Memories of Emanon, played out differently.
The hopeful side of me wants to believe the above notion, and that (if she's going to essentially live forever) she'd give at least this one moment, this one lifetime, to being with this one love.
...but that may all be wishful thinking and theorizing.
Except, maybe this memory malfunction means she's going to pass in her memories without losing her current ones, seeing as how she doesn't currently have them anyway? I mean, why would she have a memory malfunction in the first place?
Hey, being close to gods always has its drawbacks.
Then you know exactly what the next chapter entails.
I feel actually sad for that poor guy, he thinks he finally found his soulmate, that she will love him for all his life like he will love her.
But i remember what Emanon said to her brother when talking about their father :

Maybe that father wasn't great, but the thing of importance is that she said is "i didn't care who the father was" .
So basically the poor guy is going to have his heart utterly broken when this current Emanon will have her "time to spawn her next self", and will use him to have a child.
Then become an empty shell when that next Emanon will be ready and recieve the memories and will just leave "without a single care of who the father is".
