damn, if this isn't made into a Fox Starlight indie film here in the states i'd be very sad (not as sad as when i finished the novel of course but still)
Man...that hit deep. And maybe not even in the way that the author intended for me. I'm at the point where I feel worthless enough that I think I'd sell off most of my life right this moment if I could. But this guy found his redemption through that process. It makes me wonder how desperate I need to find myself before I can start changing myself for the better. Will I need to find out I'm worth 30 yen? Will I need to see my childhood friend's suicide note? idk. Really heavy food for thought.
10/10
well I expected a bunch that was going to know the band for FLCL ... don't know all the albums, but still loved the music (have the OST for a loooong long time, the band is great)
ps/edit: goddammit it was a good read, hearing runner's high (midnight down and borderline case for the last 2 chapters) while reading the last half was pretty good ... it actually made me cry a little.
FLCL was released in 2000, I am pretty glad to have had the Pillows in my life for almost 20 years
for ch.4 the song he was listening was from the band The Pillows (it's actually and album too)
As others have linked below it's already fully translated:

finished the chapters, refresh and there's two more! thanks for translating
A bitter sweet ending is still bitter...
I liked it, but like all other books I've read with bitter sweet endings, I wish the characters could've had a happier conclusion... (You know, without the whole "We're still going to die in three days" thing)
Its still really good, but I wanna cry now... T^T
Just finished reading the LN, beautiful story.
one heavy story, and it s good too, i like it
Glad to see Jump+ series getting some love. This one's a gem.
Somehow I feel calm after reading this.
Very heartwarming manga for depressed people, and it really shows what life is truly about. This would make a great anime movie IMO.
I absolutely loved this (is love even the right word?). Kusunoki was so relatable in some ways to me, and I even felt kinda inspired at the end.
Also the same vgperson translater also did the light novel/short story: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B075-RPoqHSkZ0VoVExfYi1pVWM/view
https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4048661698/
Somehow I always see them as adult Yukino and 8man
It was nice, but for a story with such gravitas, there were some system-related details that I just couldn't have hand-waved, but were.
Assuming you can ignore the details surrounding the transacting of life, the catharsis was pretty great.
It's kinda a 50/50 split, really.
Well, shit. This hits pretty hard right now.
Bless you!
I respectfully disagree! This, like most of Sugaru Miaki's works, is actually more cheerful(although not optimistic) and bittersweet than outright sad. He talks about this in the afterword to one of his other novels, which I'll put here under spoiler tags with the title censored to avoid ruining it for anyone who'd like to read his other works.
