Ragna Crimson

Extremely long chapters, overpowered characters, exquisite art, especially in the action scenes.

His previous works ended in 20 and 12 chapters, respectively. Both were dropped by their respective scanlation groups (the second one, by mine). I sincerely hope this one has a different fate.

Not sure whether I'll be reading it, though. What I really liked in Sky blue and Demon assassins was the snarky humour. As if the author weren't taking himself very seriously. I loved it. (Maybe I ought to try recruiting a translator to finish both series…)

This one… lacks that. We see some very conventional comic relief scenes, but I didn't even crack a smile. Then again, humour is a very personal thing and I don't expect anyone to share my opinions.

What I take note of is the twist he puts in his premises, which are often very conventional. Mr Kobayashi isn't so good in creating an original setting as he is in execution. The element of mystery in this one is what tells me to keep reading it a little longer. Then again, time travel is a very slippery slope…

(Incidentally, Terminator premise on this one. Obviously, the reason all people close to Ragna were killed by dragons wasn't that Ragna was cursed or a sad coincidence. Because of the alternate timeline stuff, the dragons were trying to do him in before he became a threat to them.)

Well, in his other works, the comedy begins in earnest in the second chapter, so I'll stick around a little longer.

As usual for anything Psylocke works in, this was extremely well done. Mr Kobayashi's art isn't easy to edit, too. Congrats to the team, and Biamam, too!
