Description: | Meet Sakai Hiroaki, a high school teenage mastermind with a genius-level intelligence and a lack of interest in anything that is easy to him. During one unlucky day, in an attempt to stop a student from committing suicide, he ends up committing suicide himself. After he awakens, he finds himself not in the real world, nor in heaven, but in purgatory, along with a group of others who did the same: commit suicide. Sakai discovers that he and his peers are subjected to never-ending intense death games in this world for reasons unknown to him, and he tries to find a way to escape. |

This looks good it's not even up on MAL yet.
Maybe the definition of suicide is looser in their afterlife. Or the MC took the place of the actual suicidal girl due to clerical error.
Okay, so they talked more about the game rules and such but... why's the MC there in the first place, when he didn't commit suicide.
Thanks for the update!
Yumeko´s second twin after Mary has officially joined the game
And chapter 2 finally gives a very good wrap of explanation for chapter 1 and the true premise of the manga!
And thanks to his selfish and childish ego, our MC will not accept anymore lost! Can he prove it with his wits and guts alike!?
The mangaka really don't bother with explanation in chapter one, at least the art is kinda good mmm...
For everyone who need explanation, let me explain : Kayo expect MC to betray her, so she set trap for him.
She wasn't pick heart-spade but diamond-clover.
She expect MC will betray her and chose diamond-spade.
If you still confuse, read this simple math equation :
In MC mind : (heart-spade) - (diamond-spade) = diamond-heart. MC "think" he win (kayo success)
In kayo plan : (diamond-clover) - (diamond-spade) = clover-spade. Kayo win
but she misjudged MC, MC see trough (part of) her lie but MC still want to save her.
MC also misjudged kayo. He thought kayo pick heart-clover, to save her he pick heart-clover
Remember in reality kayo pick diamond-clover !!
Thus in reality: (diamond-clover) - (heart-clover) = diamond-heart. ALL RED, Kayo dead!
TL;DR In reality kayo dead because both her and MC misjudged each other intention
No need for spoiler right? since this is only my guess/theory
It's not a reincarnation in gantz, that is actually not a real body, but a copy. The real one did die.
Pretty stupid for people that they tie it together, since there are many that are more familiar with this one. (not ment this for you of course)
You could call this a rip off of a lot of things... but the only relation I got with gantz is that they are doing this after they died, which is honestly a very broad category.
Sounds like a rip off of gantz kinda
perfect a manga.
First of all, why would a death game with people who are already dead work? It's not like they've been given any indication that they may return to life if they win all the games, it's pretty clear they're "living" an uneasy, unhappy life if they continue to win and considering they're all people who've chosen death over the trauma of life, I'd expect most people to off themselves
Also, a point about the game itself, wouldn't the best bet to show yourself press the other person's doors? That way, to save themselves they would press their own doors as well and if wouldn't make sense to actually press your own buttons while expecting the other person to press their own because both of you would die. There's no reason to not be cunning since it doesn't look like most of the games are done with trust (ex. mazes, cards...) Also this:

About the MC choices
It's not like I don't like these types of manga. In fact, I quite like these death/risk games like Doubt or Liar Game (excpet the ending of Liar Game was unlikable), even if they aren't the smartest as long as they don't make glaring logical leaps that takes me completely out of the mindset the author obviously wants me to be in. I'll follow this in hopes that the next games are better.
Not a good start at all. Contradictions, absurdness, MC not really explained well other then "smart" and "bored of easy success". And death game tragedy porn is absolutely overdone genre for manga.
The strangest thing i can't help but think is...
If that woman really trust him, why didn't she choose to press both red buttons?
I was talking about Shiro. Sora's no genius, he's sly and knows how to utilize his sister genius, that is all.
The point is, the author of No Game No Life succeed on making the first impression that the protagonists are smart without stating they are genius.
Yes, transfer to a Virtual/Fantasy world where protagonist is your shut in, also
DEMON LORDS
I don't really get the rule, say there are four button: heart, diamond, club, spade, and one press 2 then if one intend to kill other by press button that will open the other door than one can do the same. The only way is two press same button However the game go with rule must kill at least 3 so that force them killing each other so why it is game of trust anyway since there is no other way to save them it they don't kill
Well I didn't see genius in the MC of "No game no live" just him saying stupid stuff and it working out anyway because author says and reasons.
More importantly, how is it that you guys are commenting on this? No chapters uploaded.
NICE
God, I really hate death game manga.
Is there a MORE overdone gimmick?
Whoops... better safe than sorry, though!
Judging from their reactions, the girl was actually honest and the boy genius overthought the situation?
If she presses heart/spade like she said she did using the mirror, that meant he pressed diamond/spade so that both of her doors would open and neither of his would.
If she lied and pressed heart/clover to get him killed, he might have assumed this in advance and pressed... diamond/clover? I don't see why both of her doors would open unless she lied about both of her presses, which renders her opening act completely worthless.
Assuming her opening act wasn't a red herring and she actually chose her buttons based on it, it seems the MC acted pretty irrationally towards his goal of "not dying or killing anyone".
No raw but I know that 5 chapters are in Korean TL.
