There's only one thing I hate in these rules : they can't form couples within their group of four. Meaning unless the mangaka introduce four characters as good as our MCs, I'll be stuck with my ships...

I was on the fence with this, but I like how its developing. The rape retcon seems so weird though. Guess the author was just tying to get some attention. Or maybe in Japanese "attacked" and "violated" have a separate, noticeable meaning apart from rape? I want to like these characters, but they're all acting according to some hidden agenda that their interactions don't feel real or satisfying. And how is gangrape-kun still walking the streets? Some one turn these guys into the police before you graduate holy shit.

A decent read so far. I'm looking forward to more chapters.

It should be interesting. If I recall correctly only character we really know anything about was that girl in the beginning who changed big time sjnce graduating. They could also introduce a new character or find a loophole. But either way should be good read.

But since this is manga world, it is just a fictional condition made up to create drama.

 

Not that I'm complaining, I enjoy this manga, but I always lament the wasted opportunities to insert little known facts instead of making something up in literature. Call me a romantic nerd.

Don't forget that criticism is helpful only when the person criticizing can't help besides with that. But with scanlation groups nearly anybody can participate in it, so helping rather than just using insults and a few examples as criticism isn't good.

Thats idiotic. Should everyone who has a criticism about a manga's translation/typesetting/scanning quality join the scanlation team?

 

Just let the man(or woman) voice their opinion. Its not like hes spamming or harassing the scanlation group.

What Kdot77 just said is right, you could help us doing proofreading so our translators learn about their mistakes. You can't come here and complain without even care about helping. If you can make us improve then do it, if not just remain silent and enjoy yourself.

Except he can, it's called criticism.

Did he phrase it badly? Yes, but just ignoring his criticism is in itself bad if you want to get better.

Ravens no Fansub has the absolute worst translation quality of any decent-sized group I've ever seen, though.

 

Example: "Bet your spring?" Really? This is not a hard phrase to translate from Japanese for anyone who has studied it for at least two years (generally the minimum for expecting even half-decent results in manga translation). From scratch. Other horrible phrasing hiccups (most of which make little sense, if any) abound.

Edit--Another example: Chapter 2, page 13, "faceless"--This one's a no-brainer, honestly. Proves that the TL relied more on a cursory google search than any common sense or knowledge of idiomatic logic. To reiterate the meaning of the phrase: being "faceless" indicates a lack of solid identity, suggesting that any personality the subject shows is merely a deceitful façade at best. This is as obvious in English as it is in Japanese.

Demo: I believe English isn't their primary language, Spanish is. That would explain the wonky dialogue in spots. Spanish-speaking groups still refer to scanlations as fansubs quite often from what I've seen. Hence, Ravens no Fansub.
