Not really feeling the manga. What made the anime adaptation so great was that Studio Deen realized how stupid the plot of the series was, and made the art style match that. Having generic cutesy designs ruins it.

As much as I like the series, the light novels are very hit or miss. Other than the fact that they move into the mansion, the whole chapter with Anna and the ghosts is just filler. Chris is a meaningless NPC until volume 6, at which point she becomes a minor background character. And the whole "Demon King"-plot line is never consistent, swinging between unused background setting and literal existential threat.
The fact that the manga is adding its own filler content shouldn't surprise anyone who has read either the light novels or the web novels.

Especially when there's tons of material in the books that hasn't been adapted yet. They aren't even finished adapting volume 2 of 9 so far, so it's rather odd of them to be making manga-original filler.
