It's an age where aliens, monsters and other dangers threaten the Earth, and various heroes have risen to protect it. Supporting these heroes are the human defense forces, of which the sisters Yuri and Miyuki Kitajishi are a part. Specifically, their office is for hero consultation, and they help heroes solve their problems, but they also help evacuation procedures during emergencies. Yuri was formerly an immensely powerful and popular magic girl, but now she helps protect people in a more human way. In their first case, they consult with a hero who has lost his powers, and is trying to find a way to live as an ordinary human. |

Also, do we know anything about this leo guy? he's the only member we haven't really had explained, I mean, we get the hulk think bulldramo has going on, but this guy only has half a panel of action, and it's jumping in next to hornetman.

The Japanese was 好きに壊せ, which I would have to look up if that's the actual line in the Japanese movie but I have a feeling you're right and I just didn't realize it was a quote.

The author has said both in the magazine and in volume 5's afterword that the series was not canceled and he chose to end it.
I guess the series got axed if this is the way its ending.
I always took the yuri elements to be a comedic distraction, but boy did that escalate.

Well yes, I realize that Liefeld is particularly low hanging fruit. He's almost universally reviled for his terrible art, which makes it all the more baffling that he keeps finding employment.
Empowered is in my list of "to read" things. I've heard very good things about it. The best praise I've read (imho) is that it's self aware and is not afraid to hang lampshades on common genre tropes or lean (sometimes break) on the fourth wall nor does it take itself too seriously. You mention that it becomes more serious over time, that's fine so long as it does not go into full blown Cerebus syndrome, that would really put me off it.
