This reads like another LN promo manga.
To fight the x, special humans called y need to form a bond with partners called z. Y-kun is the worst of the ys at y academy but for some reason he pairs up with z-chan, the school's number 1 idol etc.

Well, I think this story already go out of already-frequent existing trope in terms of characterization and story, at least from its LN counterpart.. What else you could possibly want?

Damn this magaka don't take any time thinking upp cool names he just tells us straight what there doing.
Pretty interesting so far, all the characters are quite likable, as I would expect from the author of Campione!

interesting how the dragons refer to the leviathan's as "fakes", I wonder just how they came about
