@Metrosio I think that's a problem with the scanlators, not the original author. Normally, Japanese wouldn't use a pronoun in a sentence like that.

Cute. Wish they wouldn't use male pronouns for Marika though. Trans characters are treated so badly in mangas and stories by constantly misgendering them, and if they are a trans girl/woman in love with a guy they get their love labelled gay/yaoi/shounen ai, doubling up the misgendering. Same but vice versa for trans boys/men. I would like to see a manga about trans characters written by a trans person, particularly a trans woman. So we could actually get some kind of accurate representation.
