I have no clue how much difference this makes though I know she can leave at 18. Remember, it seems she still has some relatives at the beginning, who didn't want to take her in. From a bit of research I did about orphans in Japan, it's possible that she will be obligated to take care of them once she left the orphanage even though they never lifted a hand to help her. Adoption in Japan is very rare due to the heavy emphasis on bloodlines. I'm probably waaaaay overthinking this, though.

I hope that our hope will come true. ^^ Still, there's the fact that our couple hasn't gotten into the groove of feelings for each other yet. Seiji is held back by the age difference. Shiharu is not yet completely conscious of him as a potential love interest. How much difference will one year make? I'm waiting to find out.

So if it's going to be a full year before the grandparents can take the kids, Shiharu's birthday will have come again by then. That would make her eighteen by then wouldn't it? Is this maybe going where all hopeless romantics hope it is?
