Oga Tatsumi is powerful even without the assistance of Beel. He can lift a boulder and can crush rocks and oh, send people flying. Also, did I ever say anything about Naruto? No, I didn't. Naruto's even one of the MCs I don't like which have the same classification as an MC who have "hidden power/potentional".

And what the hell are you yapping about gender roles? I'm talking about how an MC should be strong enough and not a whiny ass emo bitch. I never said anything about girls shouldn't be as powerful or more powerful than guys in mangas.

Many titles like theese have been since the 90's and many have come before that too! I think it's interesting too see the bigger variation in mangas that have come lately, i like this one no less than those that have come before. Or actually, this is far more interesting as i've never seen. Why i like it? Why shouldn't i like it? Come with 5 arguments why woman can't be strong and awesome. (You should probably know that there are allready many womans that can beat the shit out of anyone on this site.)

I guess the spineless MC is a reflection of the spineless japanese otaku? Could this be a strawman of the authors and/or a way to get the interest of the typical japanese weaksauce? I am all for interesting characters, but I am tired of weak spineless characters, they abuse the underdog formula and take it too far... in my most humble opinion, of course... now I don't wanna start reading this manga :/

for me, it's not that... reversing tried roles could be fun, who says the guy has to save the girl, why can't have a cool girl and do it the other way around for a change? What i can't accept is that it feels like the girl here is more like some boring robot than a real person.

I like the idea of magic & fightin but wat the hell up with the guy keep receivin princess carry style from her like every time. It alrdy unmanly of him to always had a girl protect him but to have princess carry style like every time omg the dude rlly are not manly enough to be called a man

Somehow, not my piece of cake. The plot is way ouuuuuuuut there, even though it's kind of interesting, with the mix of reality and magic.
But my biggest gripe is the main pairing... the protagonist is a sensible, yet spineless and the main girl is silent and stoic... it's hard to feel anything towards them. it's more like a guardian and his escort... yet it's already settled they just have to be together, because the unwritten rule of romance mangas is that the first girl to appear always takes the guy in the end. (Meh)
