this is just the beginning of the story. then it will focus on kingdom building and politics.
food is lyfe. try to imagine a scenario where you can't eat familiar food. for foodies like me, that shit's quite terrifying.
they want to mine that good 'ol shokugeki no soma moneys
no
It seems like every isekai story devolves into a cooking story. If I wanted to watch/read about cooking there's a way better source and it turns eating VERY erotic.
They love their culture, they just don't like their work ethic. There's a reason that karoshi exist - in Japan, if you're not putting your life into your work, you're already dead.
Make sure to also support the official release.
Got to wonder why do Japanese like isekai so damn much if they seem to hold their culture in high esteem as obviously seen in this and many other series.
They go to another world and the first thing they do is to try to turn it into Japan. Variety shows, japanese cuisine, idol business. They seem to think they live in paradise already.
I'd guess when people looked for fantasy foods and found a real life Lembas bread, they all use it. Potatoes has been used in many countries throughout history and has proven to be excellent food due to its many qualities. It is a real life Lembas bread and in a world where there might be Lembas bread, why not import the potato which would be the other-worlds Lembas bread?
This manga has to keep coming!!
this was very entertaining to read.
Well, that and water are pretty much the most important thing to supporting human life so...it's actually weirder that anybody would be surprised people study it.
I bet one of them is chocolate it's always chocolate or some spice.
I disagree. Him falling over from a story point perspective would give the citizens a stronger less-than impressionable image of a supposedly waste of space from being overweight, that's always sweating, only knows how to eat, and then the final nail on the coffin would be his clumsiness. You would never expect someone like this to amount to anything, but that first impression the people watching the broadcast have ultimately gets all turned around when Soma pointed out his positive desirable traits.
And from a physical aspect, it wouldn't be unusual for an obese person to fall, simply due to the shear mass of weight/stress being put on their legs/knee joints. Even if they had a lot of muscle mass to support themselves, joints more or less stay the same. I once heard about this one overweight woman who broke both her ankles before falling over, just by turning around too quickly. Just food for thought.
He probably can swing that two-handed cleaver really well and do it with his skinny older brother.
I thought it so, That fatty at least had 3 talent :
1. Knowledge Food Gourmet
2. Chef Skill
3. Appraisal For Food
when they brought it from america. it's actually suprisingly easy to grow, IIRC. you'd be suprised at the extent of food research humanity has done so far. it still amuses me how there are people who commit their lives to learn about food.
The almighty potato.
When did the "Potato is the solution to our starvation problems" thingy start?
Let me guess.... It's potato.
