AWWW shit, they talked about absinthe, cue the absinthe "experts" that will probably turn this area into a symphony of shit-posting.

One wonders how the photographer can put up with his assistant, Sakuma, for five minutes, let alone have a professional relationship. To have a sidekick who insults my mentor, deliberately doesn't tell me when he comes by, and manipulates him into going in harm's way would make me go postal. I would have fired him within minutes of hiring him. Being an adult, any assistant who tries to act like an overprotective parent would not only be unbelievably annoying, but a complete hindrance in whatever I was doing. I wouldn't even put up with that kind of crap from a real parent.

I have become a fan of Bartender. It is honestly a great manga. I sometimes wish there was romance between the main character and some other female characters, but it's great the way it is.

No, you misunderstood me but that's my fault for not explaining properly. The thing is, I head that in the future chapters, there will be some kind of subtle romance going between that female bartender and Ryu. But those feelings she'll harbor for him are resulted from her being dumped by another guy so when somebody's nice to her, she will like that person but not so under normal circumstances, This is why I talked "convenient setting" and mentioned Guts example. Same case, in Berserk, Casca loves Griffin but that dude has eyes for the princess so Casca feels dejected and turn to Guts for comfort. I doubt Casca or that female bartender would care about Guts/Ryu romantically if their crush did not dump them.

As a guy, I'd rather fight for a girl who already has a crush who mutually likes her rather than her crush dumping her and she turns to me as a cheap replacement of her crush. "What'd happen if her crush were telling her that he likes her? Who'd she choose then? Me or that guy? Is she loving me as who I am or she only sees her crush in me?" That question will forever agonize me so personally, I think I'll stop caring for that female bartender if she ever goes for Ryu. I hate easy and convenient wins.

I don't know where you getting those ideas, so far not once have we read anything about his love life any type of romance about Sasakura. If there was any interest my guess would be the woman cityshrimp uses as their cover page. I would like to know who she is.

I like this manga. It's not a breathless, edge-of-the-seat plot, but the characters and their stories are interesting, and I learn a bit from discourses the mc gives (Hemingway and his thermos of mixed drinks)! As someone else mentioned below, it is a calming manga. Kind of like Sketchbook or Kabu no Isaki. It gives one a pleasant feeling to read a chapter.

when you truly have good friends... no matter how far nor near... they will come and lend you a hand or shoulder to cry on...

Wow... this is lame. Yet another manga where we will never know the full extent of the girl's feelings toward the main character cuz she was either dumped or her crush is dead, bla bla bla, you know, convenient setting that disposes of powerful competition....

So in the next chapter, girl will be heartbroken and that's where Ryu comes in and be used as a replacement, just like Guts' case in Berserk....

i really like how they put conversations in the bar to be a meaningful quotes....
